  • I think we are going to need to be patient this year with recruiting. There just arent going to be a lot of early commits, as we are all hoping for...IMO.

With that said, I believe Obrien and staff have done an excellent job so far in getting to the right guys, and creating some excitment about the Penn State football. I think we have some great prospects who have legitimate interest, but I also think most will take a wait and see approach. These guys and thier families are going to want to see an on the field product before they make thier decision.....one thing Obrien doesnt have going for him is a past, and no real marker for prospects to gauge him by. To a lesser extent, the JS thing is still fresh in the minds of people. The staff has done a great job working around that scandal from what i have heard so far.

All coaches are going to be excited about thier product, I just think that for now, its going to take seeing that product in action before kids are going to start pulling the trigger. Lets hope for a very solid season.

Who are you and what have you done with Spulv400?

    roughneck

  • not sure how he will be with X's and O's, but Obrien and his staff have done a nice job so far. I think if he can get some recruiting momentum going, he has surrounded himself with a nice staff (minus Roof) and can do well here.

I actually like what he is doing. I hope it translates to the field, becasue as of right now, I believe this team is low on talent. Hopefully, we can ride Redd and find a capable QB this fall to get us going in recruitng.

Yes it is. He posts crap upon crap, then randomly he'll post something relatively positive. People get worked up about it and then later he posts crap after crap, especially if someone ends up committing elsewhere. It's a cycle that just barely keeps him out of "troll zone" for most people.

Speaking of the "scandal", has anyone heard whether or not we have answered that open book test to the NCAA yet? I know we asked for an extension for some reason, but I have not heard about us submitting it yet.

...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"

yes yes, its a chat room trap.......excellent theory. :)

While you may not like or agree with my opinions, I think most of them are failry valid. Some are percieved negative, but there hasnt been a ton to be excited about in the last 4 months. Lets see, JS scandal, top 10 class fell apart to Purdue depths, a hero of mine was fired and then died bc of it, we waited 2 months for some huge hire that never happened, then we hired a guy who has never been HC at any level and has no ties to PSU. Yeah, I wasnt real fired up with the the glass half full bunch.

With that said, I like what the guy has done in his first month of work.

Really puts in perspective all the BS PSU and the players have gone through. I believe this team will have a special bond for the rest of their lives and hopefully they play big time college football on Saturdays in the fall.
