Ran into JayPa

  • after the parade. I just wished him well then asked him if he liked my shirt. It's the lion symbol merged with JoePa's face for those of you that have seen that. He said he loved it and they weren't done fighting, they had just begun.

    Thanks for sharing. I hope he's right and the truth comes out in time. Met JayPa at the hope gala in nyc. He spent a lot of time talking with alum and his public speaking is really pretty good. He would have a shot in politics if he tried.

    Wow, you really believe that. Jay should be a political strategist perhaps but I doubt he could win a dog catcher's position. Jay would never have had such a high profile job as an assistant if his dad wasn't Joe Paterno.

    No offense...but have you ever heard some of these politicians?...if they're not reading from a script, it could make you wonder if they even graduated HS. That said, while JayP may not have been qualified for coaching, he has 2 qualities I would like to see in a politician...honesty and integrity. But to each their own.

  • I do hope in time that everything comes out and the truth be told on a fact based manner. I think in the end it will be different then what was rushed to judgement. I'm ready ti move on but only when the truth is finally told. There will a lot of apologies ti be said, although I don't expect any from the NCAA or the Penn St administration. Too bad but good luck Jay, you and your family have been class acts!!

    Which one? Every position was because of his father. From UVA to JMU to PSU it was all because of the don calling in favors.....

    You are a complete fool on this. You can dislike him for his inability to develop QBs but have you ever listened to him speak? He has always been honest, passionate, and professional. He always took the high road. And he is a great speaker. Very intelligent. You need to separate the football from the rest. You may have a different opinion.

    I heard him talk about Obama and what he would do and I can say he was not very honest in that speech. I guess you are right he is a natural politician.

  • Can we keep politics out of this. Would love any one R or D to go into Washington and get what they want done if it is new and radical. Town is a bunch of wasteful excuses for human beings. Tired of that crap.

  • Come on guys. I understand that people are still a bit sour because he wasn't a very good coach, but the man is pure class. He's an excellent speaker and just an overall good man. I've gained a ton of respect for him over the past year.

    How do you know if he is honest? Based on articles and interviews? Personal dealings with him? I don't know if he is or not but I always find it interesting when people use the term "honest" with people they don't know or know very superficially. Recruits use it a lot when speaking about coaches, who are likely some of the most dishonest people around.
