I already posted this on both BWI boards, and am hoping that some of you will be both support the idea with your presence and work to get others involved, including our students!

A lot of people have been asking what any of us can do about the current vacuum of leadership at Penn State. Well, we can't throw any of the BOT out; nor can we throw out Erickson. However, we CAN visibly and pointedly demonstrate that a large number of Penn Staters are outraged by the reality that nobody at the top has bothered to defend Penn State or its best interests--and that we need new leadership.
Perhaps the best thing we can do is assemble on the Old Main lawn on Friday afternoon before the Board of Trustees is meeting at the Nittany Lion Inn on September 14th, the Friday before the Navy game, and make a statement. Obviously, those of you planning to come up for the football game could arrive a little earlier than you'd planned. And those of you with students attending Penn State could encourage them to participate.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Who's in?
Love the idea.... hate the Friday part.....
I agree with the thoughts and I myself have been trying to figure out a way to support the football team 100% but not support the Leadership/BOT..... I can't figure out a way to do it just yet.... your idea is good but I would think alot of us working class would struggle to come up on a Friday afternoon.....

You'll get minimum media coverage as a bunch of rogue demonstrators. To have an affect, it needs to be in front of network TV cameras and it needs to be massive and loud and threatening. Otherwise you're wasting your time. You also need a leader with national credibility.
Franco to your second part. Or another letterman, maybe Goon and Sween... The first part, I dunno when would be best?

Would have to be pre-game ... with a leader stating that no BOT / Leadership team is gone except Joe. Go figure that? Preferably when Pres bus arrives at Stadium!
Lots of people I know would love to participate, but it has to be at a good time for those coming into town.
Agreed. A time where tons of people would see... What about before the first game?
Folks, the idea is to have the rally/demonstration just before or during the next BOT meeting, which happens to be on Friday, September 14th, probably around 2 PM. I realize that that might make attendance difficult for people living some distance away and gainfully employed, but I'm hoping a lot of the attendees will be students anyway.
I'm working on getting Franco Harris involved, and maybe a few other large people. This is a developing situation.
Folks, the Rally For Resignations still lives!
We need to get our ducks in a row before we can announce more specific information than we already have, but that could come sometime this week. Stay tuned.
You can check out twitter at https://twitter.com/resignpsubot
You can look at the website at stateyou.com
You can sign the petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/rally-for-resignations
Or you can simply complain and do nothing at all.
Anyone with a membership at FOS could post this on their boards. Thank you!
