Quick thought if Rutgers joins the B10...

  • ...PSU has Rutgers in their OOC schedule for 2014-15. If Rutgers becomes a fellow B10 team, then PSU will need to find another OOC team to play that season. Even if the B10 moves to 9 conference games, I would think our athletic department would not want 3 MAC type teams on the OOC schedule for that season. Maybe this could be a chance for PSU to sign a big name OOC opponent during those 2 years.

we need wins more than we need big time opponents in those years. we'll be low on scholarships, no bowl game.... those will be dark years.

    Softies. No big names.

I kind of agree. I don't want to play any games against a Bama or Oregon or someone on that level during those years. It seems like it would be a good year to play a San Diego State or Hawaii type game. Someone who may be a little more competition than your average MAC team and get a chance for a warm weather game for the players and fans.

Couldn't we just play those games as conference games?

In my view, a big name doesn't have to be a Alabama or Oregon type of team. Just a nice BCS level team perhaps in a warm weather climate. How about a Miami or North carolina? I doubt either of those 2 schools will be world beaters in coming years.

Agreed. We could also use the extra home game I'm sure.
