First of all, just wanted to say how much respect I have for Penn State's players and coaches for the way they've continued to fight and claw this year long after the general public wrote them off. Great to see Penn State bounce back from those two early losses to win four straight.
Should be a heck of a game in Iowa City on Saturday. Night games at Kinnick Stadium always have an electric atmosphere, and with what I see are two relatively evenly matched teams, it should be a great night of B1G football.

So what would you say is the strong point of this Iowa team this year offensively? Clearly Weisman has talent but outside of him they don't seem to have many consistent guys at the skill positions

How much love is there for Ferentz in Iowa City? He seemed to be a hot name in coaching especially after 09/10 season but have 8-5 and 7-6 hurt his reputation in town?

Also, feelings on your offensive playmakers ability to make things happen on our stingy defense?

How is Iowa's vertical passing game? Do they try to attack deep or more focused on completing the shorter routes?

I like this. Hope it happens with other staff members from here on out. I understand our previous games prob. the only one with a 247 site was the Wahoos (who we still have not caught up to in 247 members I believe), and maybe Illinois.

I completely agree with you. Iowa's strength on offense is clearly running the ball. The offensive line, tight ends and fullbacks are all very good run blockers, and Weisman is a load when he builds some steam.
As you alluded to, the weakness on offense is the passing game. Iowa quarterback James Vandenberg has taken a ton of heat from Hawkeye fans, but I think there's much more to the struggles than that. The best receiver in school history (Marvin McNutt) is gone, the offensive line is several notches worse than last year's line when it comes to pass protection, and the players are having some difficulties adjusting to the new system implemented by offensive coordinator Greg Davis.
Vandenberg obviously can improve, and needs to improve if Iowa wants to be realistic contenders to make it to Indy. But I don't think he's the only one to blame, by any means.
