  • Record level of attendance at 140 tents and 1,184 campers. The place is electric for only being a Tuesday. The student section will be relentless this weekend, it will be a special atmosphere. Hope everyone is ready for a good time!!!

  • I'll be up for the game this weekend and can't wait. I was in the student section for the 2005 Ohio State game (and camped out at the original Paternoville) and it was intense. Hope this weekend is even better!

Looks like the students are really getting up close and personal with each other....8.5 kid's per tent!

Well a lot of groups have 10 people in them, but not everyone has to be there at the same time. The tents are close enough to hear the person in the tent next to you whispering though. blah

  • We were at the Temple game which was our first time down since 1997 and were blown away by the student section! We are coming again to see our first whiteout and can't wait. Penn State students rock!

Are you a VaTech Alum? if so, what's your affiliation with PSU if I may ask. I've seen you on this board posting quite a bit and find it refreshing that we have other fans on here obsessing about PSU football.

Vt is for Vermont. We are Penn Staters circa mid and late sixties. Son and niece are alumna as well. Son worked at the university and niece still does. We used to come once or twice a year but haven't been since 1997 until the Temple game. It got to be a hassle getting tickets, rooms and time off but since we are semi retired we have more time for hassle. We also felt that it was really important to show support for the school, coaches and especially this incredible team. Joined this board because its fun and the posters are definitely more intelligent than some of the other sites. Can't wait for this weekend. We are coming Thursday since it is an 8+ hr trip. We are----

According to the NCAA, you didnt miss much more than a few games.

  • Close up of my tent, I slept over last night. I'm doing it with the same friends i did Paternoville with for the Ohio State game in 2009 as Freshman, so this is really special for me. Lots of energy last night. I think they are trying to maximize people per tent as they asked if we would combine our group with the one behind us in line, so we actually have 18 people "in" that tent. Obviously not all at once though.

Quick question. Are there any of you there that are unhappy about the name change this year, or has everyone fallen in line with the administration like it appears to us on the outside?

The administration can call it Nittanyville, who-ville or whatever the F they want, it's always going to be paternoville, there will always be 409, JoePa will always be the founder of Success with Honor and the Grand Experiment, and Emmert will always be a jackass...I would love to see the entire student section show up Saturday afternoon with the JoePa paper masks...

WE ARE because he was and Bill IS too
