  • I'm glad PJ blew mid season rather than in the Spring. One less negative story by the mid stream media.

  • Based on Josh Moyer's most recent story on ESPN, it seems that at least Gaia, Davis, Kiley, and Williams will be back (if not more)...

Penn State Nittany Lions 2012 class stood together despite sanctions - ESPN

With sanctions eliminating any possiblity of Big Ten championships and postseason play for Penn State, the 2012 class could have left. But it stuck with PSU coach Bill O'Brien's staff.

That's good to see, he was the one I was worried about based on his playing time.

I know nothing has been said this year...but Mike Hull flat out said, once he chose PSU, that he was "done" and was PSU for the rest of his career. Always good to wait until you see something from him though so who knows. Really, I don't expect many guys to come out and say "im staying".....probably just won't hear anything from the guys that are staying and will only hear about the ones leaving.

I remember reading an article somewhere saying that Mauti found out a group of players were on their way in the car to Michigan State..I believe he said it was a LBer and Mauti called him and told him that we need him and he is extremely valuable and has a great opportunity here. Whoever was in the car ended up turning around after the Mauti call and that was the end of that game.

Man, I will never forget Mauti and the rest of this team.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

I think Belton has either really matured or he was already mature. He pretty much has been saying on Twitter that his lack of playing time was all his fault and that he will continue to fight (or was it another word?). Love that attitude. Reeks of leadership and owning up.

I still believe in Belton as the TB position (I dont like him at the slot). The 1-2 punch of Zwinak/Belton could be huge if Belton develops some more. Throw in Lynch and we have a pretty damn good backfield.

  • I echo your sentiments, and will throw this in as well... I think with an off-season to work with and the increased knowledge of his skillset, that Bill O'Brien is able to better utilize Belton next year. I think in a sense that Coach was working a hand where he wasn't able to even get a really good look at the cards. If we've seen anything from coach, it's that he seeks out opportunity for a mismatch. Having a diverse set of skills in his backfield will only help that.

  • there isnt even minuscule advantage for A-Rob or Carter to transfer. YOUR IN AN OFFENSE THAT IS BUILT AROUND YOU. Esp since A-Rob im sure will leave for the nfl if he matches last season.

I agree. Bill Belton is the next "good story" for this program. Perseverance. And then success.

+1. If Alabama can get Lacy and Yeldon carries, BOB can get Zwinak and Belton carries.

We also have Lynch.... room for 2? absolutely. room for 3? I'm not sure. Normally it's not an issue because of transfer rules, but with that gone and the ability to be recruited, whoever is the 3rd man will likely at least take a look at options. Lynch waited his turn despite not wanting to. If he is the 3rd man, I can see him looking at BC again or somewhere else. If Belton is the 3rd man, he'll have been passed by a younger player, which is never good for the future outlook.

I think all 3 stay, but I won't be confident about that until this stupid transfer rule is over. The best case is to get Belton involved in multiple positions. We have a real need for an experienced slot WR....

Forgot about Lynch. I remember when I went to the game at Alabama a few years ago and their fans were talking about a freshman (Lacy) who might be better than Ingram and Richardson. Clearly, the transfer rule changes the dynamic but this will be an interesting case study for BOB's recruiting skills.

Don't you mean zawinak and lynch because belton is not a rb. He may be a slot but rb is to his
    Position.
