I agree that we will cover vs. Illinois.
I agree that OSU will cover, but I don't think they win (although I'll be damn happy if they do).
I'm not sold on Nebraska just yet...and Michigan State is playing very well.

I'd hate to see Ahia State get on a roll, but I can live with Wisconsin getting beaten again. Michigan State's offense will eventually get them into trouble. I just don't know if Nebraska's the team to do it.

I agree with both points -- the only reasons I can see for picking Nebraska are that they have home field, and MSU has just run a gauntlet of tOSU, Michigan and Badgers so they could be in for a let down . . . though I think that having a bye after tOSU makes it doable.

While I would like those outcomes to occur, I don't know that OSU can score 24 against Wisconsin running the ball all night. I also think the NE/MSU game is going to have a lot more points than that.

You got me. I almost didn't see this thread cause Phil was working with me on developing my ability to foresee a walk-off tipped hail mary. I'll get there.

LOL - can't believe I'm still holding the top spot. I usually suck at pick 'em, but this year I've gotten lucky...and been able to call a few games correctly.

Amazing how a few games can screw you. Iowa losing to Iowa State cost me 9 points, K State over Baylor cost 8 points, Illinois losing to Purdue cost me 7 points. Auburn has cost me a ton of points in 3 games, and I couldn't pick a Miami game to save my life either.

I know ML is out, but picking Tennessee versus USCe is a big chance. UT is God awful this year. Dooley is definitely on the hot seat next year. He sort of gets a pass this year because of when he came in after Kiffin left for USCw.

I would LOVE for that to be the final PSU-Illinois score. Unfortunately, I think it is going to be a lot tighter than that.

Heard Phil Steele this AM. Said bad weather favors the team with a better running game and defense. Redd has over 800 yards over 5 yds/carry, Illinois top back has 380 yds, 3.8 yds/carry. Feels our defense is slightly better than Illinois'
Likes us to beat Illinois and then hinted that he thinks we'll be 9-1 going to Ohio State. Like the way he thinks!

Agree with the PSU pick, but don't see Wisky taking that much of a dive, and MSU/Neb is a pick'em, only b/c Neb is at home....that being said, I have no room to argue with Phil Steele's picks after having to eat humble pie last week.

Actually, considering the spread, his only correct pick was the OSU-Wisconsin game. We did not cover the 5.5 point spread, and Nebraska did cover their spread.

I thought he was crazy for picking OSU to beat Wisky. No way did I think we could have held that offense down after they just suffered such a defeat to MSU
