  • Looks like he got fired after all. I hope they go after Paul Chryst!

  • Seems like a great opportunity for Todd Graham!

  • I guess that means Long found a replacement he has some confidence in over the weekend.

  • Not sure if I agree with it but thats why they put morality clauses in contracts. Can't fault Long here.

you don't agree about a firing in which an employee lied to his superiors about his relationship and accident with a subordinate that said employee hired and had a sexual relationship with? Seems like a no brainer to fire said employee in any business....

Petrino is a scumbag. He will likely resurface in coaching but I'm glad he got what he deserved in this case.

Dont care who he f*cks, not my business its his wife's.

Like I said, I understand why. I don't think I would have is all. Doesn't affect his job duties.

He lied to his boss and hired someone he was having an inappropriate relationship with. Arkansas will probably be facing a sexual harassment lawsuit. Also, rumor is that they offered him to stay with penalties and he was such an asshole that he refused them!

and I don't care who he does that with either...you wouldn't have a problem as a business owner with employee's that lied to you? Like I said, that's a sure fire way to get yourself fired from any business, anywhere....If it was just the affair, Petrino would still be the coach at Arkansas

I don't have all the details. The sexual harrassment case is what would have changed my mind. That costs the University cash, and made it worth firing him.

I wouldn't have stayed with penalties either. Why would you? You can leave for another job and be fine.

I don't know if he'd be fine. He def. has developed a reputation. I think he's gonna have to take some time off or try and find some work in the NFL as an offensive coordinator.

He'll take a year or so off. But he had Arkansas in line to do damage and made Louisville legitimate. Winning is all that matters in college football, someone will come calling.

Nobody forced him to sign it.

Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured .but not prove they're a citizen

Thus my last sentence. I dont blame Long at all. Petrino has no one to blame but himself.

  • Long talked to Malzahn and got a favorable response is my guess.

  • Regardless of whether or not Arkansas was right to do it (IMO I think it was the right move) the fact is that he's gone now.

Tom Bradley would be a GREAT hire for Arkansas! Wish nothing but success for Bradley as a HC & it would be great for both parties. Arkansas needs a man of character to fill the void & Tom certainly has experience in crisis management. Seems like a perfect fit.twocents

  • Is anyone more recognizable as the face of a university than its head football coach these days? I think if you have someone with publicized moral flaws in that position, the whole university gets labeled as accepting of those flaws. They had to let him go for that reason, I think.

  • The affair isn't an issue at Arkansas or any other school or business. You very rarely get fired for an affair and you shouldn't; your personal business is your business. I work with the restaurant industry where there is a whole lot of movin and shakin after hours and not a lot of lawsuits. If you're Herman Cain it may come back to bite you but usually that is not the case.

A harassment case isn't going to happen. She was not his employee when she became a WILLING bunk buddy.

The issues were that he hired the gal he was having an affair with and he lied about it to his boss right up until 20 minutes before the police report went public. Long shouldn't have expected anything less from Bobby given his history. Had he simply not lied about it he would still be at Arkansas.

I think the fact that he also gave her $20,000 under the table may say otherwise.

  • As others have said, Petrino not being truthful to his boss probably cost him his job.

The Malzahn comment is interesting ... why did he take the Arkansas State job? Is Malzahn clean of such infractions?

So who wants to wager where Petrino will end up next? ... Colorado? Washington St? Tennessee?

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

As far as I know, Malzahn is perfectly clean. He didn't even recruit for Auburn. He was just the mad scientist on offense.

What kinda guy would he be if he failed to give his mistress cash and a job? You don't pay somebody hush money and give them a job in your program/company. You pay them hush money and move them to another damn state (See John Edwards).
