Penn State picked up a verbal commitment from 2011 center Patrick Ackerman from Wocester Academy in Worcester, Mass. The 6-foot-10-inch prospect visited this weekend and committed to Ed DeChellis before departing Happy Valley.
"I really just felt like it was the right fit between the school and the coaches. And the team was just a great group of guys," Ackerman said via text message on Sunday.
