  • Just stopping in to say good luck this weekend. Really looking forward to this one. From the way your guys started out and what your guys are now is impressive. Should make for a solid game. I actually came over to check out any threads you may have on the game, but I see that you are sitting good with Josh and BTBR. Hope everyone that makes it to Lincoln has a good time.

Abdullah is very good but I fear Rex running up the middle without Hill to greet him.

Maybe its just me, but Abdullah is more of a concern for me. Hill being out regardless of which ever back is in there is problematic.

As a Husker fan living in Lincoln, just wanted to take a minute to say we are excited to have you back in Lincoln.

I hope you all have a great time and see a great game on both sides.

If you have any questions about Lincoln where to stay, what to do, questions about our team feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as best I can.

Alright, I got to ask........who is the chick in your avatar?

I'll be interested to see what y'all come up with to try and freeze our linebackers.

The option game, zone read, and play action are pretty well mixed in.

One particular play action set we've had a lot of success with is the option game from the shotgun (Speed Option. Martinez takes a step out to the right, then settles back in the pocket. Linebackers (and secondary) pause for the threat of the option, giving our receivers more than enough time to create separation.

Note: If I find a YouTube highlight of that PA Speed Option, I'll post it. I've gone through four highlight videos so far without luck.

What's your take on the d-line and Baker Steinkuhler specifically? Would he have been better off staying at OT where he was a 5* coming out of Southwest?

DL has been the weak point of the defense this season, particularly at defensive tackle because of the lack of depth. Cam Meredith has had to slide inside a time or two -- Not what you want at this level of football.

I can't speak much to the Steinkuhler situation. I wasn't following recruiting closely when he came in. If you really want to cover it -- There are plenty on our board willing to weigh in. I will say there are plenty on both sides of it.

  • Husker fans, what are some of the bars to check out in Lincoln? Looking for a good place to catch the games before/after our's on Saturday as well.

Heading out to Lincoln from State College tomorrow evening. Hoping to make it there by about noon on Friday.

If you looking to watch games Brewsky's, N-Zone, Old Chicago, and Buzzard Billy's are more sports barish in the Haymarket area or there is a BW3's or Bison Witches on P St between 13th and 14th, and any number of bars on O Street that will have the games on. If you want the best wings in the world go to the Watering Hole on O Street between 13th and 14th as early as you can and get the grilled wings, you will not be disappointed.
