Lots of draft/FA-fringe guys this year. We could see anywhere from 2 to 7 players drafted. If I had to guess, I would think that Still, Crawford and Troutman get drafted and everyone else is a free agent.

Still think McGloin made a mistake not leaving early to capitalize on last season.

I haven't changed my opinion on any of these guys since I did the post season NFL evaluation article. The combine just reenforced my feelings on these players. After Still I think Troutman/Moye/Stupar should get a look in the 5-7 area. If Lynn (he cannot play corner in the NLF under any circumstances) gets drafted it's purely off genes, because he didn't play all that well last year and doesn't have the measurables. Crawford is Crawford. If someone wants to take a late round flyer on him because of his size, fine, but if he goes in the middle rounds I will be quite surprised. Powell needed to run faster at the combine, IMO, to be anything but a very late pick, and likely will be a UFA.

What on the field tape leads you to believe that Crawford will be drafted?

Just to expand on Stupar a bit, and why I think he'll get drafted. He has really good game film from the last half of the season (our best linebacker the last few games). Besides the 40 he did quite well in the other speed/agility drills, and he had an issue with his start for the 40 (asked his father about the start and he confirmed this) at the combine which led to the slower than expected time. He ran a 4.55 at PSU's pro day, so no questions about his speed. So you have production on film combined with good measurables. I think someone snaps him up in the later rounds.

Stupar would be ahead of Crawford on my board. Stupar has probably a 50/50 chance of landing a roster spot on a team as a special teams player where as Crawford is just a question mark that would have to play the best football of his life in training camp to stick. Solid player for PSU, but it doesn't bode well for players when measurables are their best asset.

Bill Parcells thinks whoever picks up Joe Suhey they are going to get a solid player.
