If the people at the state weren't so stupid, they wouldn't have allowed schools to not contribute for years!
Also, JoePa probably contributed $1 million to his pension in the last 12-15 years. He pays 7.5% of his salary into his pension. When you are making $1 million a year, that is $75,000/yr. I realize he wasn't making a million dollars all 62 years, but he has contributed quite a lot of his own money to his pension.

The amount of money that people in the state of PA have made directly because of Joe Paterno is much more than 13.4 million dollars.
The Mark May argument puts it over the top in my opinion. They should have added another million on top because of that.
