No grammar guru here, but shouldn't it be Paramus Trio "See" PSU instead of "sees" PSU?
The trio is singular, but trio refers to three guys, who would be plural.
Plus, if you refer to the Paramus Trio using a pronoun, I'd go with "they" rather than "it" because it's three guys not some amorphous entity that's going to be a package deal or something like that.

No. Trio is singular. The trio sees Penn State. The rest of that is incorrect.

I understand trio is singular, which is why I said it. I think it's an improper use of the word trio because trio implied one unit, a package deal.
If you are writing that article, and you describe them as "a trio," then when using a pronoun you'd have to use the word it. That would sound awkward: the Paramus Trio sees PSU... According to its coach, it had a good time and it really likes the Nittany Lions. That's just not good writing.
It makes it sound like the group is the primary actor. Instead, this is three separate teammates who happened to visit together. They each liked PSU to varying degrees.
