Might be the official line, but when the NLC calls and demands their donations in Nov. who's going to take a risk and wait until Feb.

It's not a risk, the official drop dead date is February 01. I make my donation every year on January 15th like clockwork.
Trust me, this isn't my first rodeo. There is no risk...and believe me, they start calling you in early January to remind you.

Agreed. There isn't a risk in waiting until February 1 each year. As long as you pay your dues by then, you will get tickets provided you had them previously.

FWIW, the user who started this topic was the same guy who also posted that David Shaw interviewed at Penn State last week which we know was not true.

Im not saying it wont be Scrap, though I highly doubt it is, but I don't believe for a seconf that he's the only one who has "interviewed" for the job.

They were dangling the carrot of bonus NLC points if you donated early. Fool me once....shame on you. Fool me ....you won't fool me again!

Sorry, having this period of silence and then elevating Bradley doesn't do much for me. I like Scrap, but I have many questions regarding him as head coach. We have a chance to change several things here and elevating Scrap, I'm not sure that changes much.

I think they were doing that because the AD knew Joe was going to retire at the end of the season anyway and wanted to lock in as many people as possible. Then boom, all of this chaos hits which escalates the situation even more for those who donated early.
I'll admit, I almost bought the bait but didn't. Earning more points serves no purpose to me, really. When I go to away games or bowl games, I go through other sources in getting my tickets.
sidenote: I bleed blue and white and will support the football TEAM no matter what, regardless of who the coach is (outside of Jay) but we all know that will NEVER happen, especially now.

Agreed. They all know Bradley wants the job, so they can put him on their list of "guys who would take it in a heartbeat."
So from that point weeks/months ago....they would then put out feelers for guys interested who they would be interested in. If nobody showed up in that list quickly, I'd say within a week or two dating back to early November, then they wouldn't drag it out if they only serious contender was Bradley. They would have done it, saved some recruits, saved the hastle, etc..
They had to have real interest from legit people for this to drag on.

We do? I didn't see that. All I saw was that some reporter in CA saying it wasn't true. How was this debunked?

I would guess most interviews were done via Skype and the agents met with PSU face to face in NY..... Much easier to cover your tracks this way.

Eh. I don't see anything in that article... And I don't believe that beat reporter any more than I believe some random poster on FOS. Sorry. And I'm not saying that I think David Shaw DID interview -- I'm just saying that this beat reporter saying it isn't so isn't enough for me to consider the rumor debunked.

Beat reporters are probably going to be the most credible.. I'm not saying he did or didnt interview, but if a beat reporter says the guy its his job to cover is somewhere, he probably is there.. Reporters arent in the business of hiding things for the people they cover, they are in the business of breaking stories..
