Amazing article. This really explains a lot about the dynamics of this team of 2012 and the special brotherhood of Penn State players. Keith Conlin who suggested the talk was a former player and the story behind Charlie Mike choked me up. That PSU meant so much to a former walk on that he wore his football belt to each mission is truly inspirational. Stories such as this are the real Penn State not Emmerts skewed impression. There is a reason why Penn State has the largest dues paying alumni association and over 500,000 living alumni and that doesn't even count the thousands of fans who are not alumni. Penn Staters like Slater are why I am Penn State proud.

SSome non psu fans dont get why we put 42 on helmets. Why we put 201242 on ri ng of honor for 8me win team. I get why they dont get it .... but this articcle could help outsiders see why. From rise and rally to an ot win vs wiscky we were indeed one team.
