PA State Titles

  • Well the PA High School football season is in it's final week. Here are the games:

    A: Clariton vs. Southern Columbia

    AA: Tyrone vs. Lancaster Catholic

AAA: Bishop McDevitt vs. Archbishop Wood

AAAA: Central Dauphin vs. North Penn

Who are you guys predicting to win? I'll admit that I don't know either of the schools in A, but for the rest I have Lancaster Catholic, Archbishop Wood, and North Penn. I personally think that Archbishop Wood is the overall best team in the state, they are a machine.

Well I went to Southern Columbia. And played on 3 state championship football teams. They play clariton who is a buzz saw of a team. They have a 40 something game winning streak and have won two straight titles. But I will be rooting for my alma mater.

As for the other games. I currently live around Harrisburg and would like too see Mcdevitt win, but wood is gonna be tough. Over all this what I think.

A: as much as it hurts too say im picking Claritin

    AA: Lancaster catholic

AAA:I like Mcdevitt but this ones a toss up for me

AAAA: Central Dauphin, only cause dont know alot about northpenn

I believe Wood has 6 players that are going D-1, but McDevitt has Noah Spence, so that will be a great one.

As for North Penn, I went to Lansdale Catholic, which is 5 mins from North Penn, so I'll root for them even though my alma mater is arch-rivals with them.

I was at the North Penn/Lasalle game yesterday. Great game. North Penn lives and dies by the run. They average about 5 pass plays per game, so if Central Dauphin can take away the run, they will win

Yes Wood does have six players going D1. They have Colin Thompson, the Peoples cousins, Nate Smith and a couple of there offense lineman. It not all about Spence with Mcdevitt. They also have Brian lemelle, Alec Werner, the freshman Andre Robinson, along with Darnell Holland and Shawn Sheif. Spence is a monster but mcdevitt has the athletes to hang with anybody.

  • A: Clariton...BIG

AA: Lancaster Catholic - ungodly good passing attack that is tough for any team to try and stop

AAA: Bishop McDevitt - need I say more? In reality though, this game could be a tossup. Archbishop Wood is a great team as well. Should be a stellar game.

AAAA: Central Dauphin - saw the Rams play twice this year. Very, very good team and a lot of them are still only Juniors.

Gotta root for the District 3 teams since I played in District 3 and am from the area!!

Don't be too sure about your Clariton prediction. I like them too win, but Southern Columbia has been there plenty of times. Coach Roth will have them ready.

Central Dauphin is a young team and I saw them in person as well. Only thing I can say is Zayd Issah is a stud!

  • I played Tyrone every year in high school and they were great then but never could get past Forest Hills. I also do some coaching and scouting for Penns Valley and have scouted Tyrone, they have a very fast and aggressive defense and they also have the coaches son Franco who is committed to play at Akron, who plays QB, not a big gun slinger but a play maker. If I had to pick though I would pick Lancaster Catholic just because those catholic school just always seem to be full of the best players.
