I believe Robert Foster is suppose to announce this afternoon - I would assume it will be either Pitt or Alabama.

2013 LB Shane Nastahowski committed to Temple (he had visited PSU before, possible walk-on I believe).

2013 DB Sterling Parks committed to Duquesne. Supposedly had an offer from Pitt, but possible the academic stuff didn't work out.

It's not a commit or anything, but I raised an eyebrow at this quote:

"Michigan State passes first, which I like, and Coach Samuel was really cool."

Say what?

Wonder if they will take another look at Seymour, if they get desperate? The stories say they have had interest in him, and they were down to see him...

Osu and UM setting themselves up for big ten dominance. Just way out ahead of the rest of the conference. Very tough for any other big ten team to compete.

Personally, I think OSU is going to dominate the B1G for awhile and I don't see UM keeping up. Shane Morris is not the QB they need and they are getting nobody at WR. Green was a huge pick-up for them at RB and one of the few playmakers they've gotten the past couple years. UM will have a good D and I see them being pretty mediocre/not explosive on O. Their extremely high class rankings the last couple years have been based on a glut of OL....which is the most difficult position to project to the college level and there is rarely a sure thing at OL.

The flipside is that Ohio State is about as thin as we are on the o-line, especially after this year. If you look at who Michigan has brought in at d-line and linebacker since Hoke arrived that spells trouble. Ohio State really needs to land another lineman this year (I think they need an interior guy though they insist they need a tackle). I think it will be interesting to see who earns the right to have the SEC kick the crap out of them each year.

Boyd's mother said what we all probably knew, but this probably confirms it:
"Payne also said Boyd “probably would have picked Penn State, if not for the (NCAA) sanctions.”

Looks like he has been getting pressure to visit other schools and prob. is a reason why he cancels at last minute. Still, wish he wouldve took an official here as I think we couldve secured his commitment.

Oh well, this should be the toughest year to recruit players due to the bowl ban.

Local voices and politics are always at play with Pittsburgh kids. Sad really. And pre-sanctions we would have Boyd, Johnson, and maybe Foster (he had us high too). Emmert must fall.
