I feel that the academic eligibility thing is a cop out for fans who don't want to admit we got out recruited by another school. Sometimes kids don't buy the message, it happens.

While BWare is a solid argument, Paul Jones is absolutely BUNK. While he has struggled while at Penn State he was a good enough student to graduate early from HS and enroll here. Academic risks don't enroll early, sorry.

There have been like 3 stories written about how he was lazy, depressed, and played PS3 instead of doing work... He has since rectified that and been doing very well. You said he wasn't an academic risk because he graduated early. I agree with you. I don't think he is an academic risk at all. His problems were documented, he admitted that he just wasnt doing homework. He has since done everything asked of him and done great in school... I don't understand why you are so defensive or saying that Im going on some tangent? If he got good grades, how is he an academic risk? Simple question, but I guess leave the thread and flip out on me. Cool.

Also, because he's passing basic gen ed courses doesn't mean jack. Not that I have any more than the obvious reason to doubt PJ will not get better, he has never made an excuse about the situation, and I higly doubt we see him in trouble again. But I know plenty of kids that have graduated from colleges, especially athletes, and from better Universities than PSU, that I would not identify as intelligent.
So in short, you talked about current standing, which was not what we were addressing, and of course you followed your typical path of discussion.

Doesn't an academic risk mean that you will not be successful in the future? He has been successful... Pretty logical to me. And there is no need to have a stank ass attitude man. You guys are the ones that weren't talking about other teams recruiting efforts. There is a lot of that. This entire page is not about other teams. I added 3 posts to it. Thanks.

He is successful now. He had problems. He owned them and fixed it. I am not making excuses. He said he messed up and he knows he did. How is that me making excuses for him in any way? Calm your ass down. You just said that he good going forward. I agree with that. I think its pretty obvious what the problem was, and he fixed it. I am very confident in the kid. Sorry, but hes an awesome kid. Im done though. You just love to argue and Im done with this garbage.
