    It was mentioned in the twitter thread but LB Yannick Ngakoue committed to Maryland today.

    Pulling in both Gray and Ngakoue in less than 24 hours is quit haul for UMD.

    Locksley is very good at what he does. Although they could be head coachless in a few months.

    DC's Friendship Academy is the best rising East coast powerhouse. Even if it ultimately doesn't work out with these two, building a strong pipeline into that school is absolutely essential for Maryland. If they play it right, Friendship could become Maryland's Cass Tech. (Sorry, I don't know of a comparable PSU-pipeline high school).

    Also, Nebraska continues the trend of offering long snappers and gets a commit from Gabriel Miller out of IN. Huskers also snagged 3-star ATH Nathan Gerry yesterday.

    During Sammy Watkins' recruitment, there was a lot of feeling among Michigan fans and insiders that he was strongly leaning towards Michigan. He has family in the area, visited multiple times and loved it, and he and RichRod were building an amazing bond. The Clemson commitment (like Nkemdiche) caught people by surprise. Now, there were the natural questions of how something like that happens, but this one was strange - it wasn't just the fans spouting off with the questions.

    Some VERY prominent insiders (we're talking guys who write for recruiting sites, some of the biggest names in the business) were convinced something very shady had gone down. These guys had been on the phone with Watkins for weeks, and most were pretty convinced he was going to Michigan. Practically overnight it all changed, and it wasn't just a visit gone very well. The pictures that have emerged since then of Watkins and his brand new $50K car have just fueled the speculation.

    Where are the pictures of this car? What I am finding is he was driving a plain 1999 Cadillac Deville during his arrest early last month.

    Ah, my bad. After a bit of searching, it looks like the police report listed a 2008 Cadillac rather than his actual 99. There was a picture a little while ago that came out of Watkins pumping gas into a black Escalade, but I guess it wasn't his (at least not officially). I'm trying to find that picture now.

    Clemson has a new DC. He is better than the one that was canned. Clemson has been able to recruit talented kids year in and year out despite underachieving every year as well.

    Venables was the DC at Oklahoma and was a part of that staff for quite a few years. He got pushed to the side once Mike Stoops came back from Arizona, and I don't think that made him very happy. Personally I can understand both sides, and I'd have been looking for another job as well if I were him.

    When Dabo came calling, Venables was probably more than willing to take it. I'm excited to see what he can do with an HC that trusts him enough to leave his defenses alone.

    Pretty sure that was the kid who did not have a good time at the spring game because none of the coaches talked to him.

  • Not about another team so much, but didnt want to start a new thread so figured I would put it here. No PSU mention or anything, just that he is opening up. Just one of my favorite players in the class and wish we would have offered him, even if there is little shot. :)

  • USC picked up another high 4*. Ho Hum a kid with a 95 rating drops their avg rating. I'm not saying those numbers mean everything, but my god that class is going to be crazy (and already is).
