Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what he means by "i stopped it."

Couldn't that just be his own assumption that "because I made eye contact and saw JS back away...that means it stopped and that was because of me?"

I mean I still question what you did to stop it? did you physically go help the kid get away and wait for his parents? (doubtful since no report came of it) Did you question JS? Did you call the police? If you saw him raping the kid....and did none of the above....then saying "i stopped it" does nothing for me. You put a band-aid on a gun shot wound and still let the person bleed to death.

(FWIW, I haven't typically detroyed MM to this point and am sure his life is a mess right now, so i feel for him)

MD, couldn't, just maybe give the guy a smidgen of the benefit of the doubt? Does he need to give a complete detailed description of what he did to stop the attack for people to back off him just a bit? LET THE FACTS COME OUT, please.

Last week he was burned in effigy, this week maybe we shouldn't have been so quick to light the match.

why in God's holy name wouldn't this detail have been something that was reported initially... or in the Grand Jury Report?... WTF... seriously?.... how could this possibly be some afterthought that comes out weeks afterward?

    (phone ringing)

    MM: hello.

Caller: Hi, this is Bob Costas. Would you like to be on tv tomorrow night?

    Could have happened.

As for why it wasn't in the grand jury report, its just a summary. Idk why it wasn't in there if this is what his testimony said, but someone did him a big disservice by not putting it in there if so.

Because as I'm learning about Grand Jury Reports...what we read was a Grand Jury Presentation. The actual report is going to be a huge document with all kinds of testimony. We don't have a clue what's in there.

You're right about that.....the doc that was leaked/released was only the SUMMARY of the proceedings, not the TESITMONY or TRANSCRIPT. Do you think a GJ meets for almost 3 years (yes, I know they don't convene 5 days a week, 8 hrs a day, but still pretty regular) and only ends up with 23 or so pages of material?? That was the Cliff Notes of all Cliff Notes versions of what they heard. Hold onto your hat for all the rest of the crap that will start rolling out that wasn't detailed in that presentment!!

Exactly what he did after he saw Sandusky isnt really relvant to the preceeding, only what he saw Sandusky doing..

    JT,
It's still important IMO. I just want to know somebody did the right thing somewhere in all this. One of the things that bothers me is that MM supposedly walked away. I'd feel much better if he acted and stopped the assault. I'm hoping it's true.

Will the full transcript be available like the presentment was? If not, how will its contents leak?

I don't think should have been leaked, but when it was they had no choice but to arrest Sandusky.

I honestly don't know if the full transcript will be released. It should be public record once the trial is over, but I'm not positive about that.

On a side note, the Attorney said he found the boy from 2002 and the boy says he was not sexually assaulted.

Ditto. Hopefully this is the case and MM's name gets cleared.

  • The reason MM and JP are no longer coaching and the other suits are out is because they collectively let the abuse continue for more than a decade. That's great that MM stopped the assault (I am a huge MM fan and he probably stopped the assault just by witnessing it), but the primary media outcry and real reason coaches are gone is because they all let Sandouchebag continue assaulting kids for another decade by not pressing the issue.

It's like the threads parsing words as to whether Paterno really *did* call the police by notifying Schultz. It doesn't matter. Once Schultz did nothing they should have called local authorities. Instead they collectively turned their heads for a decade and let JS continue to abuse kids and use team facilities. You can pick apart these nitpick facts, but the big picture is the problem. I think some people are having trouble seeing the forest through the trees.

He may have. That is the point. What was leaked was a summary not all the testimony

Summary is the key word many forget when bringing up this report. Much more was testified, of this I am sure

I think most would agree, but we don't know who did what and when. If you think it doesn't matter, that is fine. Some folks would like to know how or why this occurred as it is wrong. Getting to the bottom of it should be in most poeples interest and the truth coming out is never a bad thing. Even it it means more harm down the road for PSU IMO. If there was an effort to bury this, I would hope all parties involved including Joe get prosecuted. If people were lied to and mislead by certain individuals, maybe that "COULD" explain some of their actions or inactions. Since we don't know yet, why is it bad to say...I'd like to hear the whole story come out.

I'm sure he did find A boy that used those facilities with JS and wasn't assaulted.

  • Can somebody answer this because I think it is key to the McQuery aspect of the case. Who is the victim? Has he been identified? He has not testified. Because if this victim never comes forth this aspect of the case is all hearsay. There is no case as relates to this victim.

I'm wondering if he stopped the crime before it happened? And what he actually told Paterno/Curley/Schultz? I mean, did this GJ take some creative liberties with what he said and translate it to mean "Believed to be a rape"? Just what the heck did McQuery actually see in there? Did he see Sandusky naked behind the child and then stop it before anything could happen?

The GJ report was very specific and stated the McQ saw anal sex, and that they thought McQ testimony was credible.
    Could McQ have been mistaken?

Here is what I don't understand. Sandusky looks to be about 6'3". A 10 yo would be about 4'7". So Sandusky's genitals would be at about the same height as the kids shoulder blades. The boy was reportedly pinned against tthe wall so how does the sex occur?

Not that I really believe this but Sandusky's lawyer is saying he found the boy in question and the boy says there was no sex involved.

I suppose that I'm just grasping at straws here, but I'd like to think there is some reasonable explanation for McQ actions.

    pennstatel0

  • You don't know what was said during testimony. As has been said, the grand jury report is a summary of alleged facts written by the prosecution and signed by the gj. It's not a transcript of testimony.

As I pointed out in another thread the references to MM in one instance say he saw X and later are referenced as he BELIEVES he saw X. Again this is a prosecution document in which they are claiming a crime occurred and not quoting specific questions and answers. They are not going to state their case as "we think this may have happened". They claim it is the truth and summarize it as such.

I would pay BIG money to watch Matt Millen beat the crap out of Mark May.. Could totally see him going, "MILLEN SMASH!!" and then chokeslamming May into a table.. That would be freaking sweet..

Mark May is certainly on my list of Top 10 People in this World that I Hate. The actual order is pretty loose, but I can definitively say that he is behind terrorists, but before congressmen.

The state could not determine who the victim was. JS's lawyer in the Costas interview stated that they believe they have located the individual and he will testify that the there was no sexual assault. That would mean the entire 2002 conspiracy/cover-up was bunk because there was no assault to cover-up.
