20 shots and 8 turnovers isn't great basketball. So Lin can score, great, but 8 turnovers and shooting as often as he does isn't really efficient offense.

Also had 11 assists. I know it very efficient but he's making it work right now. I personally don't see it being sustainable but its fun (for me) to watch at the moment. Once Melo comes back the Knicks will go back to being mediocre at best if you ask me.

He does shoot almost 50% from the field though so he is pretty efficient and he gets a good amount of assists to counter his turnovers.

To be honest, I'm not a big basketball guy at all, but I don't find him all-world impressive like most do.

The first starts of his career don't mean much to me because he's been in the league for a few years, so its not like he's some no name rookie from Tarrant County College. He's a no name veteran from Harvard who scores a lot of points on a lot of shots, turns the ball over, and gets a few assists. The numbers for him are a little bit inflated because the ball is in his hands constantly because of the offense they run.

Most overrated player in basketball IMO.

Melo is just bad for a team. It's unfortunate Knicks fans were so excited for him, but the writing has been on the wall since he started in Denver. He's no longer more talented than everyone like at Syracuse.

Don't understand the hate for NJ. From PA (And hate everything minus the sports teams and State College), but NJ gets a bad wrap because of a TV show. Not that I want to live there, but it's not that bad.

You honestly don't know how many people asked me if that's what all people from New Jersey were like when the show first aired. I avoid places 'those people' infest in the summer like the plague. Where I grew up was a cool area, had places to participate in sports within a reasonable traveling distance and made some lifelong friends.

There are areas of NJ that smell awful from oil refineries and whatnot, and aren't very attractive from an outsider's perspective, I get that, but what I don't get is throwing a blanket over everyone and thing from the state. IDK, it's an argument I never won while at school, I don't expect much different here.

From what I can tell, people from Philly hate everything, I wouldn't take it personally.

Heard that, he had a good run at Cuse and it's been downhill from there from what I can tell.

His FG% this season is .496, which would be 27th in the league (if he had enough minutes). He can shoot as much as he wants if he shoots that percentage. Scoring can't be taught, but making better decisions can be. Again, he made never be heard of again, but what he has done so far is amazing.

New York guy but my number 1 team always has been and will be the Rangers. Grew up playing hockey and still play (hence the hockey coverage on here) and I had to suffer through 10 unbearable seasons until the team turned for the better.

NHL >>>>>>>> NBA but basketball in general has grown on me, and living in NYC its hard not to get swept up in this whole Lin craze.

Baseball has gotten worse as the years have progressed.

Ha. Just noticed your avatar. I own a blue Adam Graves jersey. F'n TWX. The Rangers and Knicks are finally good and I can't watch them. I still feel like the wheels are going to fall off the Rangers at some point. Maybe years of watching a crappy product has messed with my head, but I am not sure they are going to score enough goals to get through the playoffs.

Baseball blows. Yankee baseball is awesome. I can watch every Yankees game if I had to, but I can't make it through a single game they aren't involved in.

Hah, just posted the same thing. The Knicks front office just doesn't really know how to form a team, IDK.

    I don't think the jersey hate is a philly thing. It's a PA/NY thing.

Don't worry, the Rangers won't go far in the playoffs.

I don't think it's so much so they hate everything...they're just ultra-defensive. We get shit on by everyone when other cities do the same thing...maybe not at our level, but fighting with other teams fans happen everywhere. But Philly does it, and everyone talks about how we're scum bags who take sports too seriously.

There you go. I'm a sucker for hockey and have watched too many bad Rangers games than I care to say. But they have finally built the team the right way - building the core through the farm system (Callahan, Staal, Stepan, Hagelin, etc), adding key free agents (Gaborik, Richards) and having a stud goalie in Lundqvist.

My friends and I have the same discussion weekly, "Is this the game where it all goes to hell" but they just keep winning...except against the Devils. Rumors are floating around about a Rick Nash trade, but it would involve giving up Dubinsky and that might mess with the team's chemistry.

When it comes to Hockey I'm lucky. The RedWings are just F'n awesome and win titles. All the other teams I root for suck. Well, I guess the Tigers and the Lions are getting better but.

Was about to post something similar. NJ gets no respect nationally and never has. I think it's just because it's next to NY and can't compare. But what does?

I agree, I just enjoy ribbing Philly fans.

Personally, I will never forgive Iggles fans for cheering when Irvin broke his neck at the Vet, but that's part of the rivalry and I try to contain that to football. I respect Flyers fans, and the only two real 76s fans I know are alright.

2 seasons spilt between NBA and D-League dont equal a veteran IMO.. Every night I expect the Knicks to look like the Knicks again, but he continues to help them win.. You take what you can get with the Knicks.. As far as Lin, at least he says the right things, he's not out there hyping himself up like he is the best player ever.. He plays hard and aknowledges his mistakes, and the Knicks are winning.. Cant really ask much more.. Its not his fault for the hype, he plays in the largest media market in the world..

Stepan's name has been coming up as well, unfortunately. They would have to move a lot of salary to take on Nash - don't see it working.

I prefer the feel of DFW over NY, but that's probably because its my home.

I don't really like NY that much, the attitude I get from people is a serious put off. I've been spoiled by southern hospitality.
