  • Interesting sidebar on Caddyshack. Everything Bill Murray did was improvised. They turned on the camera and let him go to work. Can you imagine the Bill lifting the pitchfork to the kids throat and saying:

    "So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one big hitter, the Lama,long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."

    Among every other great scene he is in.....Cannonball!!

    PS Rangers take down the Bruins 3-0, Lundqvist with 42 saves. Guy is a brick wall.

    Speaking of great and funny movies, I almost got into a fist fight at work with someone who not only said that Night at the Roxberry, which isn't funny at all, is funnier then Caddyshack but that Caddyshack wasn't that funny of a movie. Talk about fighting words.

    Caddyshack is clearly an all-time classic--the guy deserved to be clocked! I've always had it in my top 3, along with Animal House and Stripes (maybe too much early Saturday Night Live for me).

    Ya, that was back when SNL was actually funny. I'm a big fan of both Animal House and Stripes, classic comedies. Here's to Sgt Hulka and his big toe biggrin
