  • I just tried Charlie Sheen's new show on FX, "Anger Management." Major disappointment. I usually like FX's original programming like Louie, Archer, The League, etc., but Anger Management was just some dull generic sitcom. It had the same kind of corny jokes as 2.5 Men if you like that, I guess.

    I think Two-and-a-half is pretty average in general. It's okay late at night, but not I'm going to sit down and see when it's on. So, yeah, I wasn't going to give Anger Management a shot. Expected it to be the poor man's version of 2.5.

    Eh, It might be alright. I'm not ready to completely dismiss it based on the pilot. They arent reinventing the wheel with this one, but I could see it being an alright show. Definitely not for the youngins though.

    From what I expected, it wasnt far off.

    Couldn't tell ya. I'm in the burbs housesitting for my parents. Had some people over last night and got nice and drunk though. Took it very easy today though cause I gotta wake up extra early to get to work from the burbs tomorrow.

  • Hope the fireworks were great for everyone.

    I get to get fitted for my new driver tomorrow. Very stoked. Settled on the Nike VR-S. Hit it about 5x over the past 10 days or so, hit it against the Ping, Taylormade, RBZ, Callaway, and was consistently more accurate (within reason) and longer.

    On Monday I went and hit it against the R11s, and the numbers were the proof.

    R11s (over 25 balls, taking out the best and worst shots in the sim):

    Swing Speed: 92
    Ball Speed: 134
    Side Spin: 634rpm
    Backspin: 3200rpm
    Carry: 213 yds
    Total: 235 yds
    Off Center: 3.59 yards

    VR-S:

    Speed: 98
    Ball speed: 142
    Side Spin: 312 rpm
    Backspin 2918 rpm
    Carry: 235
    Total: 252 yards
    Off Center: 6.73 yards

    Be curious what the fitter says about the shaft. I think I'm right on the cusp with my speed to a stiff flex, instead of a regular that I was hitting.

  • Fantastic man, glad you made the decision.

    The VR-S is a fantastic driver head, and if you're looking at going up to a stiffer shaft, make sure you get a performance based shaft. The stock ones from Nike and Titleist and Ping are typically as effective as cardboard.

    I know Nike prints Fubuki onto their shafts, and it's a bit better than the normal stock shaft. If the shaft isn't noticeably better than the regular, I wouldn't recommend getting the stiff shaft. Typically it's better for a ball flight to have it carry than for the extra flex capability of a stiffer shaft. It sounds like you hit a lower ball, as it's rolling 30 yards with the Nike on a northeastern (typically softer) grass.

    Let me know what you decide on.

    Got the Nike VR-S with Regular Fubuki. Naturally while getting fitted, I couldn't swing the club to save my life and was pushing everything to the right and I was coming down HARD outside in, causing the spin to make the ball go right.

    I really need this heat to break so I can go to the range, get a small bucket, and just get my swing figured out again.

    Get over it, or don't watch. Its annoying but not a huge deal. There's always going to be something to bitch about. I don't enjoy soccer because they run around in cirlces and nothing happens (in my opinion of course) for 97% of the game. You know how I deal? I don't watch.
