    Never seen it bashed

But still, RIP John Candy. I learned everything I know about shower curtain rings from that man.

Rent it or Netflix it or whatever. It's a great movie.

Plasmic Trains and automobiles is a classic too. Hell, I may just watch the Great Outdoors and Uncle Buck this weekend lol

How could you want to live in a place that's extremely liberal? That's exactly the place I don't want to live lol

Says the man from Detroit that lives in Milwaukee. Hope you remember to put out you "Stop the Assault Against Wisconsin Workers" sign. Your life is like a commercial for the UAW and AFSCME

  • Hey Tex, what're your thoughts on west Texas? My neighbors moved in from Midland. Good people (not originally from there), but have some stories about those people.

I had zero say in living either place. You're the one who wants to crash at my place on you're monthly visits to Madison to save a tree or protest a war etc.

    Aren't you a teamster?

My neighbor has a "stop the assault against Wisconsin Families" sign in here yard. When I explained that that's exactly what was done, she got pissed and said I must be a 1% er. um hello, if I'm a 1% er and your my next door neighbor what would you be?

You just made the 1% cut, she's in the 1.3% clip, so she considers herself part of the 99%.

Well Austin is an interesting demographic, because its the only town in Texas that's even somewhat liberal, and its 60/40 liberals to conservatives. Compared to the rest of Texas though its like a gay pride parade.

The town itself is awesome, and I have yet to find a sane human being who doesn't love it there.

Awful. They mean well, but West Texas sucks, and Midland and Odessa are an entirely different planet.

Tell them I'm sorry they had to live there, its definitely not the finer side of Texas. Typically not well educated, ranch hands or roughnecks, who have nothing to do but watch the Cowboys and HS football.

Midland has a good JUCO golf team though, and apparently Midland Country Club is an OK course, but that's about it.

Hahaha yeah they're both from up here in the Midwest originally so they were happy to come back. She was actually the sportscaster down there. Real hot. Definitely a face for tv. Nice people.

I know some other boards have off topic boards. I think it would be cool for us to have one too, we could all get to know eachother better and talk about other things besides PSU. What does everyone else think?

Too bad she wasted it on West Texas football.

For some reason there are a lot of good looking girls from West Texas, but I'm not sure how. They just spring up at Tech.

I'm going to Austin next week. It'll be my second visit. I had a blast there the first time. Any suggestions on places to go?

  • I'm trying to come up with something to do, after my football career is over. I have been dabbling a bit in poetry and would like to know what you guys think:

    ::Broken Limbs::

A seedling, misplaced in the fractured soil,
reaching for the warmth of the summer's sun

A sapling, turned upwards towards the breaking sky
reaching for the clouds with wings spread wide.

    A tree, with the girth of a swollen nipple;
    erect, with sturdy limbs.

The pass was high, almost trapped by the Moss,
which gently rides the moist backsides of my branches

The ball slips through the Moss' buttery hands
landing on the weak branches below.
I break. My limbs break. I cry. ,... I cry for Bunchen

She does not respond. I am alone. My days are alone,
    I cry. I cry . I cry

Thank you for reading my poem. I know there will be a life after football, and I believe that life to be as a
Poemist. I am not just a football player.. I am a real person! Just like all of you

  • My daughter recently was accepted to attend PSU this fall, my wife and I are grads who would like her to attend PSU. I live in North Carolina so out of state tuition looks brutal. I could make one year of out of state tuition work but not 4. Anyone know of a way to have PSU accept residency after the first year? I visited the Bursar site and it doesn't look promising. Thanks in advance for any help.

For parties, 6th street is awesome.

For food, my favorite places are Trudy's and Torchy's Tacos for mexican. Sullivan's is a phenomenal steak place, but it's pretty pricey, and same for Ruth Chris. It's pretty hard to go wrong though, even the taco stands in town are usually pretty good.

If the weather isn't bad, I suggest going to the Greenbelt to watch the sunset on the river. It's gorgeous, and it's always nice to go for a short hike.

For golf, I've only played UT Golf Club, which is a LONG but very good course. You should call if you want to try and swing it, but no guarantees they'll let you out there. There's some really good courses in the area though.

EDIT: For the view, Oasis is great, but the food isn't very good. Coming from my brother who went to school there until two years ago, Cain's on the river is a great spot to go. Matt's El Rancho, or Maudi's is also a good spot if you're not looking to drink.

    Hope this helps

I didn't get it until I started playing, but now that I have I can't stop. It's my drug.

I was that way up until a year and a half ago. Once I got the basics down all I wanted to do way get back out on the course to get better. I also hate being bad at anything I try so that could have something to do with it.

I love it. Was awful, but the more I played the better I got. Still at neat playing regularly a bogey golfer on average. I haven't had the time for a while. But its outdoors, I prefer to walk the course(play better and drink less lol). I find it frustrating and fun all at the same time. Like said above, a personal challenge.
