Saw that about 10 minutes ago on a break in story on TV.

The body can only take so much abuse from drugs before things just start saying "I'm done". Very sad, but not overly surprised.

As the details of her death hasnt yet come it we still cant be sure whether it was drug related but I would not be surprised if it was. She had several relapses apparently so it seems she could never get off it.

I'm saddened by the news because of the many pop singers to have come out in the last 30 yrs or so, she was one of only few with a truly amazing voice. Most of todays female pop singers have awful voices yet todays youth is hooked on their computer manufactured songs whereas people who grew up listening to singers like Whitney Houston were actually listening to people with great vocal ranges and beautiful voices.

I for one was a fan of this lady's music and i'm not ashamed to admit that.

Sad, but you get what you ask for. My old business Partner died at the young age of 27. I don't get why people do this to themselves.

Whitney Houston was an amazing talent and should probably be remembered as one of the greatest American voices of the 20th century. But like so many others that are so gifted yet taken earlier than they should by their own demons... it is a sad day for all those that were touched by her music.

I couldn't believe she was 48 ... would have guessed she was close to 60.

Man, her signing just seemed to effortless for her. What a gift.

One of the greatest voices of our generation her rendition of "I will always love you" is phenomenal.
