I've heard good things, any track suggestions?

I think all the tracks can stand up alone, but I'm partial to Be Mine and I Ain't The Same.

Ha. You have good taste. I was at Bonnaroo last year and the AB were one of the bands I was most disappointed about not being on the lineup. Saw some amazing shows though - My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Black Joe Lewis, Mumford, Portugal. The Man, Deer Tick, Childish Gambino, The River City Extension, Buffalo Springfield, Black Keys, Decemberists. Outside of being covered in dust for four straight days that was a great experience.

Is the Dawes show a first come first serve ticket thing? Or do you need to get them ahead of time. I do like them and I'll be in the city already anyway.

i was at roo last year as well! Loved the string cheese set in addition to all the ones you were at! I loved the deer tick set that was when they were still good! hate their new stuff go back to folksy tunes!

There are free tickets however i did not get them so i will prob just listen on the rocks right outside the stage area

  • Reading this thread is depressing the hell out of me. I used to play guitar and record music with a friend right after I got out of college, felt like I knew the music scene very well. Fast forward more than a decade, toss in a couple kids, and it's quite clear I know almost nothing about the current (non pop radio) music scene.

And to answer the original question, I just popped in Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris' All the Road Running album for the first time in a long time. Simple, beautiful song writing and singing.

  • Too many to list, but here's some of the bands on the regular rotation: Radiohead, Beach House, Arcade Fire, The National, Pinback, Phantogram, Decemberists, Beirut, Silversun Pickups, Interpol, Cold War Kids among others......

Saw Radiohead in San Jose back in April, 3rd time seeing them live. Still in my top 3 as far as live concerts go. Downloaded all their live shows that I've been to and it definitely brings back some great memories.

Ha, so true. I feel I've become that stereotype of telling kids music today sucks and how great it was when I was a kid. Lol

I love Knocker. Did you see him a few years back when he came to Dayton?

Love Johnny Cash. One of the GOAT.

I really like any type of music, nothing imparticular. I have 50s rock to modern day hip hop on my pandora.

Not a fan of country, but a ton of friends listen to it so I'm kind of forced to hear it. Raps not bad, but I'm picky on who. Love Joe Budden, Drake, Eminem, Tyga to name a few. Hate Lil' Wayne, and don't really like tupac or biggie much. If push came to shove, I could do without rap but I do have some that I love.

Yes he is. One of the few artists whose music I never get tired of.

I'm not sure what I should start out with today, some Chuck Berry or some Otis Redding?

All I listen to at work is mainstream country, most of which is crap and sounds like it was made on a computer. The country I like, which happens to be the radio station that sponsors where I work, is scratchy and people next to me don't like it.

I saw Matt and Kim play at that Moving Out festival or whatever it is called on the Hub Lawn at end of spring semester. Pretty good.

Heard Red Rocks is the best place to watch a concert. I was in a DMB groove at one point in my life (sorry Sneaky and others) and heard his best shows were at the Red Rock. Heard the sounds are good there too due to the rock.

What you heard is 100% correct. I think it's impossible to have a bad show there.

At some point, I will. Maybe the one in Vegas next year. I was at Ultra in Miami this year -- That was my big festival for the year. Also want to hit up Coachella(sp?) some year soon.
