OT: Whatcha Listenin' To?

  • This is a rather popular thread on another sports forum I frequent. Just thought I would start it up.

So 247 what are you listening to?

    I will start off...

Quadrophenia by the Who. Probably my favorite Who album.

    Johnny Cash.

Love Johnny Cash. One of the GOAT.

I really like any type of music, nothing imparticular. I have 50s rock to modern day hip hop on my pandora.

Not a fan of country, but a ton of friends listen to it so I'm kind of forced to hear it. Raps not bad, but I'm picky on who. Love Joe Budden, Drake, Eminem, Tyga to name a few. Hate Lil' Wayne, and don't really like tupac or biggie much. If push came to shove, I could do without rap but I do have some that I love.

  • The Cave Singers, Herman Dune, Uncle Tupelo, and Charles Bradley have been dominating my stereo the last few days. Bradley was a recent discovery and a real treat.

    Johnny Cash.

My car CD player has Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson's VH1 storytellers CD in it.

Other stuff I am listening to right now is Brantley Gilbert, Eric Church, Kip Moore and Zac Brown. I have been more into contemporary country lately. However, I also listen to a lot of old school and 90s hip hop, Americana, outlaw country, alternative country, classic rock, southern rock, 80s rock, older country, folk, jazz, blues and oldies rock.

Love The Strokes. Is This It is probably my favorite album. Used to rock that my HS career.

I've just recently been getting into Spotify, my brother has a premium acct and gave me his info so I like it better now. I recently downloaded Of Monsters and Men I love the sounds both their voices produce. Some good tunes by them, I like Mountain Sound.

    Johnny Cash.

Solid. Garth's greatest hits in the car, Toby Keith in the office. My buddy from Chicago I got into country loves Eric Church so we get that going in the bars a lot.

Sounds good I just pulled it up on Spotify. If I like them I'll probably check them out, I saw the Black Keys last year at the summer stage in Central Park.

Is This It is solid as well. Strokes live in concert at MSG was one of my favorite shows I've seen. I put their setlist into a playlist on my iPod and listen to it all the time, they just meshed all four albums together so well.

Ha. You have good taste. I was at Bonnaroo last year and the AB were one of the bands I was most disappointed about not being on the lineup. Saw some amazing shows though - My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Black Joe Lewis, Mumford, Portugal. The Man, Deer Tick, Childish Gambino, The River City Extension, Buffalo Springfield, Black Keys, Decemberists. Outside of being covered in dust for four straight days that was a great experience.

Is the Dawes show a first come first serve ticket thing? Or do you need to get them ahead of time. I do like them and I'll be in the city already anyway.
