The prospect offered by #PennState today was offensive lineman Andrew Nelson, from Hershey, Pa.

Stand corrected hoping Nelson isn't the only one. (Tapping my inner RMJ)

    Nelson has been hot lately, picking up offers from #Clemson, #SouthCarolina, #Missouri, #Maryland, #NorthWestern, #Pitt, and #Temple

i dont mind the offer given we really don't lead for any OL to this point. I'm really useless at watching OL film and trying to evaluate though...he could be not offer worthy for all I know.

Not a horrible list of schools on that offer list. Kid has to have some skill.

  • Did not even visit us. Not sure of the depth chart at Bama, but it cannot be worse than ours and I would be willing to bet it is full of 5 stars.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

Yeah, when I heard that I had nothing to worry about because the staff had "been on him for a while", my first thought was, "well why has he never visited"? And Im sad to see my gut was right here... We need to move on, but again, it remains to see who the heck we have on the radar at DB...

If Rob Foster thinks it's hot in Tuscaloosa now, he ought to try two-a-days in August. Hottest, most miserable I have ever been has been outside in West Central Alabama in August. You can barely breathe at times it's so humid.

Another thing Foster might want to consider is that I do not recall a large amount of Bama WR's that have had successful careers in the NFL, whereas PSU WR's have done fairly well IMO.

They can just point to Julio Jones. Sure it's only one kid, but he looks like will be special in the NFL and he just came out last year.

To be fair, its a reset with a new offensive coaching staff. Point to Hixon's past in developing wide receivers in college and the NFL. He did a great job in Buffalo. Point to Steve Johnson. At the college level, Michael Clayton is typically mentioned. Experience with transitions from high school to college to pro is a good sell.

Just wondering - who can we point to? I don't think PSU receiver have done well at all.

That said, it is a brand new staff with a WR coach who comes highly regarded. I think Foster would do very well to come here over both Pitt and Alabama for a few reasons: 1) he'll have a premier QB throwing him the ball, 2) he'll be working in a passing offense, and 3) Hixon has a great history of teaching WR's the fundamentals, especially running routes, which would appear to be Foster's main weak point.

A premier QB throwing him the ball? I like Alabama's QB situation a whole lot more than ours... We are essentially banking on one of our incoming QBs coming in and being ready to go. Remember Bolden and Jones were both highly ranked, nothing is a guarantee with Hackenberg although I really like his film.
