The last staff didn't know how to use Devon.
JMO, but I think he will be one of the guys to surprise come next season. Not because he got much better as a WR, but because BOB understands how to fit a system around his personnel, and that its a bad idea to run fades and corners with a 5'8 kid.

i will be happy if they just teach brown to catch the easy thrown balls...he already catches the more difficult ones, if he can keep his focus for the easier ones, it should help whoever our qb ends up being

This. We talk about bringing in a Welker type and while I agree with the notion that Switzer seems like the better football player, Moo Moo is almost a clone in regards to height and speed. He can thrive in the slot in this offense if he can simply haul in the easy passes which will be coming his way more often now.

He's much faster than Welker in straight line speed, but he doesn't seem to have much wiggle. He doesn't have the hands obviously.

As another patriot fan, I don't think David Williams compares at all to BJGE because greenellis is more of a power guy that you can trust will never turn the ball over. I see the potential of what Stevan Ridley may be doing in 5 years as a better comparison to Williams. Switzer may serve as both Welker and Woodhead as an occasional change of pace guy. Love the Foster: Moss comparison. Let's also have AB and Hack get after Mike McGlinchey : Nate Solder (being extremely tall and lean tackles), Dorian Johnson : Matt Light (pretty tall and strong), Brendan Mahon : Dan Connolly (Mahon could be much more than the jack of all trades that Connolly is, but itd be a reach to compare him to brian waters or Logan mankins who are two of the best guards if the last decade). On to the defensive side, I know OB didn't coach defense in NE, but I thought the comps would be fun anyway. Deeb : Brandon Spikes (hard, reckless hitters with decent instincts-an old school mike), Anzalone : Mike Vrabel (have to go back in time a couple years but Mike Vrabel comps well), Vanderdoes : Richard Seymour (don't know if we have a real shot at him, but if we hop back in the time machine again hell destroy lines just like Seymour), Boyd : Pat Chung (no rational here just that they both play safety and are thin). That's all I got.

Nice comparisons. Agree with most of them. Yea, dont think we have a shot with Vanderdoes. Who else do u think we have a shot with at DT..? I remember rmj mentioning somewhere that this class will most likely take 0-1 DT's, if they do. Poggi? Webb? And what happened to that DT from Delaware? I forget his name. How does he end up going to USC (yea, i knw, apart from the ovb reason that its USC) and we being close by, dont even get a look. Does he have character issues? Or something that the staff felt that he was not PSU material? Just asking!
@Hamilton: hahaha rofl for the BJGE comparison..
