So who's being lied to? BOB or Schad?

Probably neither. I'm sure he has conflicting feelings, loyalty vs an "offer he can't refuse".

Plus, Schad is a reporter and BOB is a coach. BOB would never say, "Silas is leaving us". Schad is making money by having you retweet him and go to his stories on that web site that will not be mentioned.

That being said, how could the visit to USC go badly for Silas? They can say whatever they want to show him to come to USC. I am sure however that Mcneal and the other 4 RB's on the team are not going to welcome with open arms...

There are lots of writers, columnists, Mark Emmerts that want kids like Silas Redd to leave PSU. It makes for a good story. One of the best and most focal images of the success and dignity of PSU football to up and leave for USC to win championships is an eye catching story... No one really cares in the OL from Arizona leaves. Emmert wants 50 Silas Redd's to leave... that makes the story richer.
