Thats what I like to hear. Turf sucks. And it's indoors. Bring on the real grass... Love BOB right now.

You sure they are sodding up? Doesnt seem like a smart move to do that, if its indoors and the future costs. Turfs a better option, just wonder if they are switching to a better field turf.

If they are willing to spend the money, natural is always my preference big guy.

Not at all what I was saying. I was asking are we sure they are moving to sod? I wouldnt think that it a smart move fiscally or technically if its indoors and a practice facility. I think they would and should just go with a new style of turf. Practice facilities work better with turf, that grass goes to hell and its dangerous to practice on after it gets that torn up. Indoors as well has me doubting that. Just doesnt make sense in an indoor practice facility.

You are right about it getting torn up, but if they are really willing to ball out and replace it that would be amazing... Like a pro team... Many times when its rained on (outside) it is prone to getting torn up (see Hinez field). You could be right though, they could just be updating the turf and updating it to the newest turf... I just hate turf. I got hurt on it in HS...

Oh I know how it works. Just saying that turf takes a long time to really set in (see the OutbackNL Bowl vs LSU) and you dont have that with a practice facility. I dont have an overall preference between grass and turf, they both have pros and cons to play on, just doesnt seem practical for an indoor practice facility is all.

    But hey, aint my money.

Gotcha. Either way, Im sure the upgrade (whichever it is) is welcomed and will serve our guys well. Just glad to hear that they are upgrading our facilities in every way. We will have the best under OB and Fitz. BIG time man crush on both of them...

  • There are teams that have natural grass indoor facilities?

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

  • More than football uses Holuba. Real grass would get trashed real quick, and outside of the Arizona Cardinals and their rolling field is it even possible to have grass indoors?

No, it isn't. Unless the facility is a greenhouse, you cannot have a grass field indoors. Arizona's solution is pretty much the only way that you could have it.

You can keep Cam...we'll just take Alex.

All this being said I still think he winds up at UF, haha.

  • Tweets from Michael Chung an OSU columnist part of Silver Bullets...

@michael4469: Source close to Ohio State mentioned Alex Anzalone as a good kid, loves his family and would not be surprised to see Anzalone at Penn State.

@michael4469: Source also mentioned that the five LBs from 2012 class along with Connor Crowell may have also been a factor.

@michael4469: With Jaylon Smith also a potential recruit, depth may have scarred Anzalone. Source thinks J Smith will go ND because he could play earlier.
