OT: Tom Brady

  • Disclaimer first: I'm a long_suffering Buffalo Bills fan.

With about 6 min left in the Bills-Pats game, score tied at 24-24, Brady throws a pick. Brady has a chance to tackle, or shove out of bounds, the Bills DB at the 5 yd line. He completely gives up on the play, and Bills DB scores.

Its probably a smart move by Brady, not to chance getting hurt. But he really looks chicken on the play. I wonder what the Pats think about that effort from their leader.

  • I called him on that as it happened. Couldn't believe he made no attempt at all.

JMO, Tom Brady is one of the strongest competitors in the game today. I think questioning his effort on a play is a bit much.

Brady is an excellent QB. Probably one of NFL's all time best.

But I'm sorry, he's not competing on that play. He gives up.

  • Steeler fan, couldn't care less about Brady or the Pats. The odds of him stopping Florence's momentum from that angle with only a few yards before the goal line were slim to none. It looked like a pussy move, but by backing off, he eliminated the possibility of somebody lighting him up - and you know a division rival would loooove an opportunity to do so. He had a couple blockers in the area with him. It was a smart move.

  • Brady is not very fast. I honestly think he has next to zero chance of preventing a touchdown on that play.

Agree with you Hamilton Lion. Probably the best QB in our lifetime.

not to mention, by tackling him, buffalo could bleed more time (if I remember correctly it was relatively late).

    This.

Looks like a puss move, and probably is, but what's the big deal if he tackles him? So he's down inside the 5, and now the Bills can take a minute or two off the clock.

  • He did the same thing when he threw a pick against Miami - the one Jared Odrick tried to take to the end zone. Brady made one hurried step in that direction, then jogged along until his receiver came from behind and tackled Odrick.

Honestly, it's just not worth it for him. Him or any other franchise QB.

This. Best Offenseion the leagur That can score on basically any play... 5 minutes left against The bills week 3. If that was Eli and I thought the giants were as likely to make the Playoffs as the pats are I wouldn't want him tackling the guy.... Just isn't worth the risk
