OT: Something to watch for...

  • Old Dominion is moving up to be a FBS team. They will be playing in the CUSA along with 6 other new teams. So why am I singling them out? I lived down in the Hampton Roads area and know just how deep the 757 talent pool is. The area has no real "home team"... not VT nor UVA. ODU is going to be real good, real fast.

I wouldn't want to play them in a few year. They are going to be a dangerous team (in an upset kind of way).

My father went to ODU (I was born in VA Beach). He will be very happy to hear this, if he doesn't already know.

  • Just from the MB, but I always remember UVA and VT fans saying if ODU moved up, they would be able to get a lot of good talent. Not to mention, apparently it's a really cool campus. Theyve been held back because of not being a FBS team.

I really thought you were gonna say "because they are probably the next team PSU will schedule."

Well, they actually just restarted their football program a few years ago. But just to show you the kind of potential that they have, they quickly became one of the better teams in FCS... it didn't take long at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they contended for a CUSA title within 3 years of moving up.
