Agreed. As much as I could have used Chelsea to drop points for the sake of Spurs, I can't stand seeing City win anything. And I'll be rooting again AVB and the boys to beat up on the Gooners. COYS (recognizing that yes Spurs dropped points at Stoke, but this is what happens when the ref blows calls left and right).

I know its not in Arsenal's nature to spend, but honestly, even Wenger has to recognize the knife edge below his feet. Maybe this is when he gets a bit worried and opens the purse strings to compensate?
Agreed with Diddy's moves. I'll say this, there does seem to be some legs to the Jan Vertonghen rumors for Spurs. That would be fine to me...with King Gallas and Dawson all injury risks and Kaboul having the potential to return to Kaboul form, just having another body there is smart.

Mata actually discussed taking it with Lampard. Drogba often lines up the shot, even when Lampard is definitely going to take it. You can't take Frank off that line though. It's still his responsibility when he's on the pitch. Does anyone else remember the last non-Lampard PK? Oh yeah...David freaking Luiz @Genk. What a mess he made of that.

That actually has a negative percent chance of happening.
Although...it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Liverpool could buy back Torres.

Liverpool or Arsenal are very, very slim possibilities. If City or Real offer $40 million for RVP, perhaps Arsenal would take the $20 million profit and hope for the best? I can't think Arsenal would swap players +$20 million to Chelsea. If Villareal had more cash, I'd say they were a contender. Perhaps a swap +$10 million with Milan for Pato?

Gross that a team can take a 30 million pound loss on a guy, not bat an eyelash, and probably already have another bid ready to go on (name a striker).
I want Spurs to get bought by some moron with way too much money. Then the Guardian, Daily Mail, etc. will have the task of keeping up with alllllll the people 'Arry tosses offers to join him in North London.

It will catch up to them eventually. Their heaping mountain of debt can't eternally be swept under the rug. I was suspicious about that investment anyways. First, I'm not sure the city of Manchester's economy can support a 2nd worldwide power. Second, I'm not sure City is currently composed of the pieces to make it an intriguing squad with new football converts. I guess Balotelli is their spark plug, but he's inevitably headed back to Inter. They lack a cohesive identity. Since Roman bought Chelsea, they've won 3 Prems, 3 FA's, 2 CC's, and have made 4 UCL Semis and one Final. Plus, they had a consistent backbone of guys like Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Essien, Cole, and Ballack. Yet, they're still 3rd/4th in world recognition amongst the EPL clubs and post significant financial losses every year. City's investment goes well beyond that made at Chelsea, and they need a decade to duplicate such success.
ManU, Arsenal, and Real have all scaled back...and there will be long-term dividends for doing so. The UCL proved that spending isn't everything. I have real worries about the long-term stability of City's construction.
