Rags have given up. That is a team in shambles. On paper, the Nash deal looked good when it was done. Now, it looks terrible. Alot of NY's depth went in that deal.
Torts has to be on the firing line. Under his guidance, its where goal scorers go and die. Richards is terrible; Gaborik isn't that good ... His system is terrible for the Rags. If you were a high scoring guy, would you want to play for him?
Today's game easily could have been 6-0.

IIRC it was around this time last year. For some reason, I remember flipping between the NCAA tournament and a pens-flyers game on a Sunday afternoon. IIRC the Flyers beat the Pens in OT to end that streak.
The Stanley Cup playoffs are about luck of the draw in matchup as much as anything, IMO. Both the Flyers and Pens had some favorable matchups in 2008-10 when they advanced to the Finals those years. For example, the Pens were lucky to avoid the Bruins in 2009 after the Canes upset them in the second round, and the Flyers were lucky the Canadiens knocked the Pens out in 2010. The pens were unlucky to draw the Flyers last year, who then had the bad luck to face a NJ team that barely squeezed by FL in the first round.
I get what you're saying about peaking too soon and not being able to recapture the magic, but I still bet any GM would rather have the "problem" the Pens or Blackhwaks have.
