    Flyers are 4-11 last 15.....

Fix is clear to anyone with a brain.

    Lavvy.... FIRE HIS ASS

    Homer.... FIRE HIS ASS

    Rinaldo... CUT HIS ASS

    Simmonds.... TRADE HIS ASS

    Voracek... TRADE HIS ASS

    Sestitto..... CUT HIS ASS

    Hartnell... BUY OUT HIS ASS

BRYZ.... LAUNCH HIS ASS INTO SPACE

I would never trade either Simmonds or Voracek. After lacking defenseman, we lack wingers as well. Also Voracek is young and coming into his own. I would trade Laughton or Cousins.

  • Thank god Homer held firm and didn't part with Couterier in a potential deal for Weber. Kid looks TREMENDOUS this season.

If you remember during the 2011 draft... there was a lot of talk that Couts lacked an elite gear..... He fell in the draft... It was D Dougie Hamilton or him..... Hamilton has out played him significantly. The issue is you can only keep 2 elite Centers...

Giroux, Scheen, and Couturier.... 1 is gone... since Couts came here last it was a dumb pick unless you felt G or Scheen was not good enough... then why did we get them????

Are you serious about this? Couterier all the sudden can't score. He looked better last year. Trading him to Nashville for Weber makes Philly so much better. You aren't getting a single thing out of him, except defense.

  • I see this thread has picked up. He didn't jump off a cliff after all.

Simmonds is Garbage ... trade his ass

Voracek sucks ... trade his ass.

Again, these are two of the last guys you trade off that roster.

You don't trade either of those two, unless something SIGNIFICANT is coming back. Voracek is finally proving he can take his game to the next level.

Here is the problem with the Flyers' system. It isn't good. Outside of those two and doesn't Cousins have a criminal case pending, Philly doesn't have much as far as prospects.

Cousins is suspended.... not sure it is criminal. I still would not move him.....

End of the day unless the package is unreal I protect

Giroux, B Scheen, Hartnell, Simmonds, & Voracek

Hard to trade but would if the price is right

    Couts, Laughton, Cousins, Timmonen

People you shop like its going out of business

    Coburn, Mez, Bryz, Grossmann

You can track your boy's criminal trial here ... sexual assault. That is why he is suspended.

    http://www.broadstreethockey.com/2012/11/5/3607430/nick-cousins-sexual-assault-case-trial

Couts' value has changed quite a bit really from last year. He can't all the sudden score. That doesn't mean you deal him, but his value is lower.

Timmonen has little trade value. No one is going to give you the "right price" for a 37-year old puck mover who is shades of himself and is signed for a cap hit for 6 million for next year.

I don't shop Grossman. He is one of your top two defensemen without question.

Not true. Is suspended for cross check. Trial stuff has been on going but hasn't kept him out of any significant time. He's 2nd in OHL in scoring.

Yes, I'm serious. The next coming of "Ron Francis" according to some Flyers fans is alot different than the one that played last year. Still effective, but certainly not the player he was as a rookie. I assume you expected more than 2-5-7 in 25 games and a -8 from him, right?

Your defense is terrible. Pittsburgh's isn't good but that is beside the point. Weber would have been a huge help to that blueline. You trade Couterier 100 times over and over again for Weber.

  • Instead of continuing to allow you go on this pointless rant I will just break the news to you that I was being sarcastic in my original post about Couts, which I think was very obvious. I would have traded him in a nanosecond in a deal for Weber. Holmgren and the majority of Flyers fans at the time though were adamantly against it. Very poor decision in retrospect.

The offer we heard at the time was more like Schenn + Coots + something else. In hindsight, I guess you could say it was bad (especially considering how terrible the defense has been). But let's not pretend like the offer was Coots for Weber straight up. It was a rookie coming off a very good season plus a guy expected to be very good plus more.

  • No one ever said or believed the deal would be Couts for Weber straight up though. The initial asking price was thought to be Schenn, Couturier and either a couple draft picks or another player. The Flyers most likely could have pulled off a deal for Weber with just one of Schenn or Couturier along with a couple 1st rounders and maybe a defenseman like Gustafsson.

Bottom line is Homer took a chance with the offer sheet and it backfired big time but I always felt like people were overvaluing Couts after an albeit impressive rookie campaign. When you have a chance to get the best defensemen in hockey then I'm sorry but from a Flyers perspective a kid like Couturier shouldn't prevent the deal from happening.

Oh, ok, that's different. I thought you were saying it was pretty much Coots for Weber, which it obviously wasn't.

As for the move backfiring, I don't see how it backfired at all. It was a win/break even for homer. Either he got Weber or he didn't and no harm done. Backfiring to me means losing on a deal, which he didn't IMO. Although I do wish Weber were a Flyer. We might just define backfire differently. I still don't have a problem with Homer. He's ballsy and I think overall he's been successful. Sure, the Flyers are not good right now. But overall, his moves have been successful. He brought them back from the terrible 2006 season by destroying the deadline that year. He traded Richards and Carter for Jake, Schenn, Simmonds, and picks (Coots and Cousins). I'm a fan overall. Just wish the team didn't look so awful right now.

  • I would trade pretty much anyone on Devils roster, minus Kovy, for Weber. Guy is a beast, would love to see him working with Scott Stevens in practice. Ok, daydream over, back to watching them struggle without Marty and not give kinkaid a shot.

I doubt you have any clue about what is said in Pittsburgh about hockey. The highest scoring line in hockey and #'s 1 and 3 in scoring...I don't think they are "calling" for a veteran winger to help Sid. They're doing just fine.

What THEY are actually looking for is help on the 3rd or 4th line.

But whatever man, keep thinking Crosby sucks and dives...he will just keep scoring and setting up guys at a pace that hasn't been seen since Lemieux and Gretzky.

People just don't get it. I think people who know hockey are starting to see Iggy and or Perry aren't needed in Pittsburgh. We can put up points and goals without either one. They don't help our third line, which needs an upgrade or they aren't a young physical stay at home defenseman.

Amazing what the top line in hockey is doing right now.
