Yes and that is Shero's problem. He will try to trade Martin in the off-season. Whether he is successful remains to be seen. I'm not shouting the Pens need an amnesty clause to dump Martin. It's their own fault, so they either have to live with that contract or deal him. I think there is hope for Michalek though.

Agree, but to me, that is a chicken shit way out of it. I have no respect for franchises that do that.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but it's gonna be tough to beat the Rags in MSG. Whoever wins I see getting past NJD to the finals. Should be fun to watch!

Everyone assumed the Devils would get killed by the Flyers too ... oh wait. I wouldn't see anything yet. Rags haven't impressed me at all. Devils could easily win against the Rags or Caps.

Curious as to why you feel either would beat NJ?? I would be shocked if my boys lost to the caps in an Eastern Finals series and think they'd handle NY in 6 the way they played against Philly.

Oh, I agree, just saying they wouldn't need any amnesty BS in a new CBA, they have a crap way to get someone off books already if they really wanted to. If the Rags can move Gomez and that ridiculous contract, the Pens could find a new home for MArtin

While the Martin contract looks bad now, I'm a firm believer that he needs a change of scenery. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Martin was a very solid, not stud blueliner. To me, he could return to that with another team because the Pens' system, whatever that is, doesn't seem to fit.

Agreed. I think Devils Rags would go at least 6, maybe 7, and could go either way. I think the ECF's will be a toss up if those two play. Although I'd take my chances on team Hank because he's just awesome.
Either way, I want my free beer so go Caps.

It's official, most boring playoffs in years. I can't even remember the last time I was this disinterested.
At least the Coyotes finally lost, so that dirtbag Torres has to actually start losing paychecks due to his suspension.

Its official, you are clueless. Playoffs have been great so far. Just because the teams you like don't make it doesn't mean the hockey has been bad.
Kings have played like a machine and upset the #1, #2 and #3 seeds, hardly boring there. East has been crazy as well.

None of the Kings series were dramatic at all. I think that defines boring. Upsets by seeding, sure, but not exactly exciting series. Especially with the style of hockey they play. Also, watching the Devils and Rangers play isn't exactly two thrilling teams. They're both very good. But by no means are they very exciting.

Devils and kings are the 2 highest scoring teams in the playoffs that did not play in the ice capades, no defense allowed series between the 2 PA teams. Both are deep, roll 3-4 lines and all can score. As for Devils-Rags, that has been great hockey between the 2, I don't know how you can like hockey and not enjoy watching all those great chances and great defensive plays/saves. Heck, one of the best games the Devils played all postseason was a 3-0 loss in game 3. Lundqvist put on an incredible display to steal a game. There have been 4 game 7's in the East already, hardly boring playoffs.
