I am psyched. up 2-1 .... we win on Saturday hopefully

Game 4 is the most crucial game of every series, especially one that is sitting at 2-1.

Yes, if anyone is still awake and too wired to sleep, go watch baseball, and I promise you'll be out cold within five minutes.

I agree. Just making sure. I respect Mets/Rags. If you had Angles in there, I'd have questioned it.

  • It was a late night. I couldn't care less after that win. That was one of the more nerve-wracking experiences I can remember.

I was oddly calm compared to the 1994 OT games. Maybe patience watching Playoff OT hockey comes with age? I think it's more that I just have alot of confidence in this team right now. Though it's time to dress Eminger if Torts doesn't trust Bickel to play for 5 straight periods of a thriller like this.

  • What a game last night. Glad that they have that extra day of rest bc they were both just flat out gassed. Could have easily gone either way with the Rangers and Caps hitting 2 pipes in the OT's. Cally is a shot blocking machine and McDonagh must be some cyborg logging all that ice time. Torts was only playing with 5 D men bc he didnt trust Stu Bickel to be out there. Cant wait for game 4

  • Don't forget Girardi got cut over the eye last night and was out for several shifts while getting stitched up in the dressing room. I assume they laid him down and got the singer sewing machine out and presto he is ready. Last night was not as nervewracking as that 2 to 3 minute stretch late in the third against Ottawa. I don't think I breathed at all and just stood at yelled "get it out" like over and over again.

btw... eminger sucks worse than Bickel..... I just cringe when he has the puck deep in our zone because you know you are going to see him try to pass it up the middle.

Ice time for the defensemen last night.
    Bickel - 3:24
    Stralman - 28:00
    Del Zotto - 43:33
    Girardi - 44:26
    Staal - 49:34
    McDonagh - 53:17

That is ridiculous. Stralman played half the time as McDonagh. They basically played with 4.5 defensemen.

  • That series looks a lot like the Bruins Caps as the most entertaining of round 2. Hope it goes 7 like that series did just to get to watch 7 amazing games. Holtby looks great and Hank's being Hank, just fun to watch.

I am the same way. I think it is age and a combination of other things. Up until that 1994 team, my squads never won anything. The Rangers were chokers, the Knicks had to deal with MJ, and the Yankees usually sucked. Then they come back against the Devils and hang on against the Canucks. Since then, the Yankees have won a bunch of titles. I have calmed down. I also have way more things going on in my life than when I was a kid.

In 1994, I wouldn't be able to sleep after a tough loss. Last night, I was just enjoying the game. Although, I don't have as much confidence in this team as you. Part of me staying calm, is my low expectations despite their #1 seed. I just don't think this team is deep enough to get through the playoff grind.

I hear that, I was only 4 at the time so I *vaguely* remember that series. So true though Bickel's lack of ice time is ridiculous no need to dress him if he isn't going to play. Shame Sauer has been injured most of the year he would be a great addition on the back line.

ok... I was 24 and was drunk off my ass when Matteau scored against the Devils....

So screw you youngsters...... you probably dont remember the "Nineteen Forty" chant every team used to use against us in the playoffs.... I am replacing that chant memory with ...... "You can't beat us" .....

  • Welp, tonight is game 3 of the Flyers/Devils series. Now we're in NJ. Hopefully the Fly Guys can rebound and come out and play the way they did in game 1.

Exactly. There will be as many, if not more Flyer fans there. Lets be real here, you can still buy an ice level, first row seat and it is the day of the game.

haha yep. Jersey is a hole for hockey. Although the Prudential Center is very nice. Jersey has been holding a campaign to keep flyers fans out with stupid tweets about no real Devils fan would ever sell their ticket to a Flyers fan and such. They also gave out passwords for a pre-sale only to devils fans. Still can't sell out. Pathetic.

Flyers are a very good road team. Who knows what will happen tonight, both teams have played one terrible game each.

That's crazy. I saw a stat on Twitter that the price of tickets for the Devils/Panthers game 7 were $40ish on the day of game 7 and for game 1 of the Flyers/Devils series cheapest tix were upwards of $150ish.

As long as we're talking about that greatest of days, I was 18 and it was during Finals week at my HS. I convinced a teacher to let me take my exam after school the day before the parade. Someone at my father's office had two tickets to the City Hall Ceremony that he was nice enough to give us. Sat 2nd row, in front of Dave Checketts and Ernie Grunfeld of the Knicks. Hard to imagine it ever leaving my list of top 5 best days of my life.
