OT: NHL Playoffs Thread

I wouldn't go that far. Even if Rags go down, Washington is going to be a tough out from the East. And if St. Louis comes out of the west, they'd be very difficult to beat in the Finals as well.

I think St. Louis or Nashville can definately beat Philly in the Finals. They both have the structure to do it - great goaltending and really don't make that many mistakes -especially STL. To me, that is a nightmare match-up for the Flyers.

Phoenix and LA can give them a run because they have goalies that can steal series - they already had done that against better and deeper teams in Vancouver and Chicago.

Washington - eh? Boston wasn't playing well heading into the play-offs.

Lundqvist's outburst both publicly and supposedly behind closed doors after game 6 surprised alot of people. The Ranger's will be refocused and will not lose tonight. I think this team knows they have a huge door open to them to get to the finals. Boston and Pittsburgh were going to be our two toughest matchups and they are both gone.

I am thinking it will be the Rangers and Flyers in the conference championship..... and we all know how that will turn out.

Yes, because game 7's are wildly predictable. When did Rangers fans all of a sudden grow beer muscles about this series?

i was wondering the same thing. since when does making a public outburst mean a team is more focused and will win? i thought it meant guys were losing their composure.

Gonna be a great night of Hockey. Can't wait!

Every team left, East and West, can give them a run. Flyers aren't coasting into the Finals if the Rags go down tonight. Admittedly, their humungous big roadblock does get moved with a Sens win.

As for the West, all four goalies have looked phenomenal. The Flyers do play a much different tempo than they'll see in the next two series, so both sides will need to make adjustments if the Flyers can get to the finals.

I just can't wait for tonight at this point, almost every game this playoffs has been incredible.

Who knows. Apparently getting outplayed in 5/6 games in all facets but goaltending is a recipe for an easy game 7.

We get it, you don't like the Rangers. But how much of this series have you actually watched? The Senators have hardly been the better team for the past 5 games (I'm figuring that's what you're implying). Even Maclean the other night after Game 6 admitted that the Senators were outplayed for all but the last six minutes.

Sens outplayed the Rangers in game 3 as well.

I'll agree with that. But I happen to believe that the Rangers had the better of the play for more of Games 2 and 5. Anderson is having the groove of his journeyman career, he's covered up alot of Senator defensive lapses. I think it's been a very even series, and that's why it's going to Game 7.

I agree with that. I'm just curious why the other guy said the Rangers "will not lose tonight"? Honestly, I think the Rangers are more likely to win. But it's not by too much - it's game 7, anything can happen. I'm excited.

  • As a Ranger fan I'm nervous as hell for this game. Anything can happen in a game 7. As a miserable Jets fan I am also nervous for the draft and our history of botched draft picks banghead

Also, I couldn't believe Hank stole game 3 like that. I hate him so much - he's everything Philly has wanted in a goalie for two decades. That's why I want the Sens tonight, he's the scariest player in the East right now.

Sickening. I would hate to see it anywhere, but sadly, if a black guy does something that really hurts a team, I'd imagine most fan bases would have a decent share of racist comments. This is disgusting though.

    Correct...Flyers in 6.

    Correct...Flyers in 6.

    considering a few things:

    - the flyers defense and goalie was shredded by Pittsburgh. Granted no other team in the NHL, let alone in the east has the same firepower that Pittsburgh does, it's still concerning.

    - the flyers are 0-6 vs the Rangers this year. If being 5-1 mattered vs Pittsburgh, which many flyer fans proudly pointed out, then 0-6 vs the Rangers also matters. It's clear the Flyers had the Penguins number. It's clear that the Rangers have the Flyers number.

    - Henrik is good enough to win a series on his own.

Having said all that, if the Rangers lose tonight, then obviously everything mentioned is moot.

  • 0-0 after one in NY. Rangers took advantage of some mistakes early, Sens took over after a power play late. Both goalies look sharp.

Awfully bold statement considering how the regular season series ended up. Rags have to make it out alive tonight though.

No sir. The play from 8 minutes to about 4 minutes left in the third period was nerve wracking......

Game 7's in NHL are awesome!!!!

and with that the Devils score again to go up 2-0. How do the Flyers match up against the Devils? Home ice will help....

As long as they keep Brodeur in net, I'm confident (not taking it for granted by any means, just confident). Brodeur has been bad all year. I think these two teams have played the worst of anyone in the East in the first round.
