im sorry, the rest of the NHL doesnt like crosby as much as you think... Hatcher got penalized for that, nobodies forgetting it. you cant keep pointing to it everytime someone calls out crosby for being a baby. every action he did today screamed "whiney b****"

    FYI-Hatcher was not penalized!

They might not like Crosby, but those who like hockey and are intelligent about the game respect Crosby's skill in the game of hockey. Saying Crosby was a joke today while you sit there and back Briere and his antics (not much in this series) and stick shots over his years is funny.

Crosby can be frustrating and I am sure he is to opposing fans, but many other players in this league have pulled worse things. Crosby's perception gets blown out of perception because well he is Sidney Crosby.

There is a lot of disrespect in hockey in general. Look at what is going on in the playoffs so far. Crosby was not really the issue today as what he did happens in almost every game (at least intense game). Now Neal and Asham is a different story and should both be sat down for games.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

I agree with your premise about Crosby. I think he's the best player in the world by a decent margin when healthy and people (especially rivals) give him more crap than he deserves, in part because of that skill.

However, today, he acted like a childish punk. He instigated multiple altercations tonight (the glove incident and grabbing hartnell from behind both immediately jump to mind). Most nights I defend Sid around here and think he doesn't deserve what he gets. Today, no way. Kid was a punk and deserves hate today.

Crosby is hated in Philly like Hartnell in Pittsburgh but to say he disrepects hockey is way out of left field. Dont confuse Philly's perception with the rest of the NHL. How soon Philly forgets when Hatcher knowcked out Crosby's teeth in his first game against the Flyers. Save the me the Flyers are holier than thou crap....

U r obviously either 1) drunk or 2) stupid because ur grasp on reality is way off. Yes Sidney (Cindy) is a baby, does cry to the refs nonstop(which he admits) and his actions today prove y he is a punk...great players like Gretzky, Messier, and Lemieux (yes a penguin) would have never pulled what he did today. For months I have been saying that I hoped he felt better from his head injuries and no matter what I felt about him, him playing was better for the game...I don't think that any more, he is a cry baby and a cheap shot artist and doesn't deserve the game...u r in the huge minority even the majority of ur fellow fans are embarassed by ur teams actions today....go flyers!

Yes it was childish, but like I said, those kinds of things happen practically every game (gamesmanship). He is not "disrespecting hockey" at all like the previous poster mentioned. I am not defending his childishness, only that he is passionate about the game and the Flyers got in his head and he deserves to play the game regardless of what the previous poster believes.

  • What a series. Was able to watch the game today and was blown away with the pace and physical play......and that's coming from a Caps fan who can't stand either team. Good luck to both teams, hopefully no one gets killed in the process.

Right now, it's one of the fiercest rivalry in all of sports. The Pens and Flyers players HATE each other. I've never seen a team get under the skin of another like the Flyers have done to Pittsburgh. They totally took them out of their game. When you have Crosby getting into multiple fights, you know the Pens are in trouble.

Part of me hopes Neal isn't suspended, only because I want to let the Flyers hand out their own punishment.

I hear what you are saying, but at the same time, having Neal on the ice can only lead to more players getting hurt. I would hate to see any Pens take the attitude like "if we are going down then we are taking some Flyers with us."

  • Pens are screwed. Terrible defense and goaltending, with their star players/captains throwing a tantrum and losing their focus. Poor leadership, and I don't know if that will change soon.

    Neal is garbage.

This coming from a Stars fan. I admit I never liked Crosby, but was very indifferent to the Pens in general until I watched this last game. It's pathetic, and really is a shining example of a team completely falling apart.

  • The Flyers are just a brutal matchup for the Penguins. It happens in sports.

They have won 7/9 meetings this year, that's a trend not an accident.

When a team is thoroughly dominating, and is in the heads of the players as the Flyers are the Penguin players, emotions get high. I suspect the last few minutes of the next game are going to be very interesting if the ref's don't put a lid on it at the start of the game.

  • Asham to have in-person hearing. That generally means at least five games.

Neal is going to have two separate hearings. I don't know what to make of that one. If he gets a suspension for his first hearing, is he then immediately punished as a repeat offender at his second hearing? I think this is a first.

true, but imagine the third period of game 4 if the pens are down by 2+ goals.

  • Some of you (not all) Flyers fans must have started watching hockey fairly recently or live in a complete homer bubble. The Flyers have fielded some of the dirtiest teams in the league in the last 20 years.

The Penguins have all the talent in the world and they are getting housed by a Flyers team who is playing way better...they are melting down and some stuff has happened as a result.

Other than the former Flyer, I don't have any real problem with any of the Pen's actions. Maybe the hair pulling...
