Another juicy rebound by Fleury on that goal and another save that shouldve been made.
Fleury is now under 80% save percentage. Inexcusable and Johnson deserves a shot because even at his worst he is not as bad as Fleury right now (which is really bad).

Pens are better without a goalie at this point.

Considering he's playing all by himself in his end, he doesn't really have any reason to be confident.
Gotta pull him though just to try and wake the team up. Us non-Philly/Pittsburgh fans need the Pens to come back and win. If I get a second less than 7 games of this series, I'm going to be really disappointed.

As a flyers fan I only really see Fluery when we play. But the guy is a proven winner and all world goalie. Any pens fans think he is hurt or is it all just mental for him?

No.
He CAN be an "all-world" goaltender, but then he can disappear for months at a time. He is way to inconsistent to ever be considered "elite" or "all-world." Been like that his whole career. Makes some great saves then leaves up softies. This series just shows how bad he really can be when he is not on his game. Even with our D being non-existant a lot of goals in this series should not have gone in, either by a bad rebound or not making a save he shouldve made (usually after a bad rebound by him).

Fleury can stop Ovechkin on a breakaway and then 30 seconds later let in a 40' shot with no traffic.
I think he is hurt at this point. Maybe that's wishful thinking for how awful he is

I think in this series you see two teams with average if not sub par defenses. It looks like neither goal can gain any confidence. Flyers are winning the special teams battle and I think that is being overlooked. Special teams are so key in playoffs.

honestly, the flyers need to put this away quick. hopefully they can win today and maybe on wednesday so bryz can have some time off and clear his head...
given the flyers win the series of course, still a lot of hockey to be played

If the Flyers get through this series, the 2nd round will have a far different set of circumstances. Several far superior defensive squads are in the mix. With no Pronger and Meszaros, defensive battles are going to be difficult for us.

The flyers need to keep going full throttle and not try to sit on this lead. I started to get the feeling midway through the second period that's what they were doing already and then the pens scored.

Holmgren gambled and won. I'd take Couturier, Voracek and Cousins (the 3rd round pick) for Carter. I'd take Simmonds, Schenn and a 2nd rounder this year for Richards and Bordson. Vegas baby Vegas.
