  • would you be upset if your team were to "tank" the season if they had no legitimate shot at the super bowl to win the Jadeveon Clowney Lotto? As an Eagles fan Im all for it.

  • Yes. Going through the Andrew Luck thing two seasons ago, I still wanted them to win. It is about winning. If they "tanked" the season, I'd want every player and every executive fired for being pussies.

    That said, I was happy to win that Andrew Luck prize. But that was because we were bad, not because we quit. I can handle bad, I can't handle quitting.

    Exactly. Would I be ok if the team tried and sucked and ended up with Clowney or 2nd-5th pick again and getting a guy like Bridgewater? Yes. But purposely losing is a slap in the face of everyone who spends a buttload on tickets and all the players who want to work hard while other give up. Would be a joke. I'd also hate the head coach who decided to lose on purpose - just pathetic.

    Once it is clear you cannot win a title... TANK BABY TANK. A title winner at QB is more valuable than anything.

    1 or 2 wins can keep you average. Be awful or compete for a title 8-8 is as bad as possible

  • Honestly, there have been times I wish the Bills were #1 pick bad, rather than middling around between picks 8 and 12 for ten straight years...but I would still be pissed if they purposefully tanked the season. Really pissed. And that's knowing that we have barely missed out on some great players by having one win too many.

    Hell yes I would.

    There are no guarantees, Clowney could end up being a flop and you wasted a season

    Terrible attitude. Sorry, I can not agree with this at all. As a fan, I will Never route for my team to lose, just to secure a better draft pick. If you covet a player so bad, you can trade up to get him(see Redskins and RG3).
