I'm seeing Zordich horribly whiff on blocks all game long. I don't tinker with attributes much, and he's no world beater in that department, but that's one guy that I know I'll be tweaking a bit attribute wise once a named roster pops up.

This. My lead blocks miss a little too often, and corners jump routes WAY too easily. They close on the ball pretty fast.

Anybody have names for the Xbox one?

The one I found is not perfect and a lot teams outside of the BCS conferences are just auto-named....

PSU has some serious problems, but its a good start...You will need to change some yourself. They didn't include PJ, instead Tyler Lucas was on the roster. Also, they subbed Moo Moo and Drake for Evan Lewis and Pryor and didn't change their ratings...Also no SOA and some problems with the O-line...A lot of the freshman are missing...

However, here is the gamertag for the one I found....(I am waiting for the crew at operation sports to release their rosters)

  • So started my dynasty last night here are some initial thoughts....

Game has a clean smooth feel... Players move well nothing too extreme and the sights & sounds felt authentic. So far I enjoy it. Our playbook is pretty cool too... Easy to use and some fun plays

Recruiting is different and the scouting is a cool feature... I am still trying to get a handle on it though.... I think I'm doing it right but we will see

  • I'm going to start calling myself the comeback kid.

I won my first game on three hail Mary's in the fourth, almost came back against Oregon, throwing three in the fourth again, and Oregon state I did the same but still barely lost. I have thrown more than half my TD passes in the fourth quarter.

One thing I'm starting to notice is that the Four Verticals is almost unstoppable. If you have any time at all you can find somebody

IMO yes. Last years game you'd have guys fall through the cracks (4 and 5 star guys with no offers in week 6), and you could work your way into the top 10 by making a few promises and offering a schollie.

Now, with the open slots your team makes the top 10 with one phone call, but once you're in you have to actually out recruit the other teams to get a guy. Much more realistic IMO, as some teams would ignore 4* guys until it was too late, and you could sneak in. Now, only 2* guys are left uncontested.

Also, as an example, I'm Wazzu right now, and have three 5* guys on my board. After scouting everybody for a few weeks, all three of those 5* guys are busts. I happened to pick a good C from Cali, a mid 3* guy rated at about 65 to start, but after a week of scouting he's a "gem," and is projected to be about 70-71 overall. Because he's a 3* guy, the number 41 C in the country, the competition for him is San Diego State and Oregon State, with 5 slots open for other teams. I'm still recruiting the 5* busts, because they'll still start for me by their SO years regardless, but they're tougher competition.

I'd say it's much better IMO, much more strategic than last years game.

    It's a lot better IMO.

Nice. I will be picking this game up. The recruiting aspect of the game has sucked for years... it sounds like they are finally making it more realistic.

Can anyone comment about the speed of the game off the football field? Last year's game took FOREVER to navigate the menus and to do recruiting. I hope they streamlined that as well. IMO, they have too much going on in the menus... they should just make them clean and fast.

Yea, the only thing that sucks is the passing icons and the DB's that can run 4x faster than your WR.

Also, I've noticed my players have a serious problem catching the ball (could be related to the passing icons).

McGloin was sacked a number of times in the only game I played (against Pitt 35-14 victory)

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

  • I am using a lot of short routes & runs that stretch the defense and it's working very well for me.... The offensive side asks you to be more authentic in your motions on the field no more super man stuff....

Defense feels the same as always I bring a lot of heat haha

Sounds like they didn't fix FB's then. They were pretty much useless in 2012 as well.

In the two games, I played the PSU o-line had several lookout blocks...DE or DT just sliced through my o-line. However, the run blocking was solid.

I also noticed some horrible AI play calling on Heisman mode, I was playing as Andre Ware and they called a QB speed option on goal line situation. The options to change the play also were very poor in Heisman mode. If you try to run hurry up on 4th down...it will give you the option of the previous play ran and two special teams plays...

    Yeah I've noticed the same.

I thought that was just because I was playing with Wazzu though lol.

I think the passing icons are when they're paying attention/ looking back for the ball. Last year they had some bugs where a receiver could make some miraculous catch when he wasn't looking for the ball and just stuck his hands out perfectly. Now receivers can't do that, they have to be looking for the ball, which is awesome. The thing that sucks is safeties can apparently make those catches now, as I've had some picked in the corner of the endzone by a safety who watches the receiver and makes a no look catch with his back to the quarterback and the ball floating over his head. bacon

Overall though, I think the game has improved. Blocking is still atrocious, (I'm not sure why EA won't let an OL get a pancake while you play?), but overall it's an improvement. Interceptions by LBs are WAYYYY more realistic, thank god. They'll make some nice plays and breaks on the ball, but it's humanly possible for that to happen. The superman catches they put in the game last year for anybody under 98 OVR was ridiculous, and defied the laws of physics.

Yea, I simply don't like the Road to Glory or Heisman modes for that very reason.

I especially hated when I was the QB in Road to Glory and they want me to hand the ball off 75% of the time. It just doesn't make any sense at all. I wish they would keep the views and controls (being able to control the WR/RB) the same during the Road to Glory as with normal game play. The Superstar mode in Madden is even worse, IMO.

As for the OL blocking ... yea it's bad for pass blocking, but run blocking is typically OK. One thing I do is use the slide protection when in shotgun and I pinch the OL. That way I know I'm probably only going to get pressure from the outside and hopefully my RB picks it up. Play action plays are the worst as the QB is tackled 90% of the time before the passing icons pop up.

I had 3 INT's I believe during the game I played ... as usual it took 5 seconds for my DB to land on the ground and begin to run. It's amazing how the CPU WR's can tackle you in mid air during an INT and their DB's during an INT can begin to run correctly as soon as their feet hit the turf.

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

    Lang06

  • You can throw it before their icons pop up, they're just more likely to drop it.

RTG play calling is effing retarded, which makes it less fun to play. I played as a power running back and went to VaTech, and I barely got the ball. They'd pass on first and second, then when those were incomplete they'd call a dive on third and long. WTF. Because we never had the ball, we'd get down in games, and they would throw all three downs instead of just two.

I stick with dynasty, although I always pick a job at a poor football school a a coordinator so things are challenging.
