About the only thing I will use ESPN's website for...the trade machine!!!

Here's one I got to work:

3 Team Deal between 76ers, Magic, & Lakers

Sixers Get: Bynum and Artest Magic Get: Iggy, Evan Turner, Steve Blake & Sixers 1st round and Lakers 2nd round pick Lakers Get: Howard & Hedo

Sixers get a dominant center to free up Elton Brand, A crazed PF who can D up, Rebound and even score - coming off the bench at a reasonable price (6.8M), and they get to keep their most important back court player in Jrue Holiday.

That would be one hilarious trade. Imagine the Sixers getting Bynum and Artest for Iggy/Turner/mid first round pick. That would be the biggest steal in the history of basketball.

It actually works out for everyone though, because the Lakeshow get Dwight Howard plus a 4th scorer in Hedo. Their starting 5 would be Howard, Pau, Hedo, Kobe, and Ramon Sessions, and don't forget Steve Nash is sitting out there for a mid-level exception. That makes them the immediate western faves.

Magic get to rebuild. They can get into the lottery or they can use both 1st round picks, they move two huge contracts and get back one big one in Iggy, and actually a very good contract in Turner's (4.8M). Both are young and still have a lot of room to grow, and they could probably move Iggy to another team like the Nuggets and get someone like Gallo back in return.

Actually, the only team I'd worry about would be the Sixere. They'd have a gaping hole at SG ( Young can fill in nicely for Iggy), with not a lot of room to maneuver. They'd have to see if they could outbid the Knicks for JR Smith or something.

Say what? The Magic would never do that deal. The Lakers second round pick is literally worth nothing. The mid first round pick from the Sixers has moderate value. Blake, zero value. Iggy is a nice all around player, but he has chronic knee issues at this point and certainly won't get any better as a player. Turner is two guard with some upside, but he can't shoot a lick right now. That's not a rebuilding package.

And how could you possibly worry about the Sixers after this deal. The Sixers would do that deal yesterday. Check that, they wouldn't even accept the deal as they would assume someone was playing a prank on them.

  • I've said this for years, I would take a healthy Wade over LeBron any day of the week.

    Psycho T!!

Btw - LBJ led both teams in Points, Steals, and Assists, and had 4 less rebounds than Roy Hibbert.

There isn't a player in the NBA who's even in the same universe as him LeBron in productivity, and ability to dominate a game. Not Wade, not Kobe, not Durant. "oh he's not a closer..."...who the f*ck cares? Go bring in a gunner for the last second, and LBJ will get him a wide open shot, as he draws all the attention to himself.

He's the greatest all around basketball player, ever. If he wanted to, he could average more points than Durant. If he put all his energy into it like Rodman, he could lead the league in rebounding. If he played pure PG, he'd lead the league in assists. He's already the best on-the-ball defender in the NBA. No other player in the history of the NBA could do that.

    That's a LOT of if's.

IF he wins a championship with an over-the-hill superstar and a bunch of stiffs that I literally can't remember, I'll be more impressed. You sound like Rumpke from FOS pumping up McGloin with made up statistics. By the way, you just described Wilt Chamberlain who literally did all those things.

  • If Durant wanted to, he would feces on LeBron on offense. He's not the all around player LBJ is, he's a significantly better offensive player. Mostly because he can hit a jump shot.

Yea agreed. I read a breakdown of Durants scoring prowess about a year back. If the guy was as efficient as he's shown he could be, and took a few more shots (not possible with Westbrook on the same team) he could average 38-39 pt/game. Really ridiculous. And it's not that much of a stretch. The guy goes to the line a lot, makes 90% of them, shoots the 3 ball well. All he needs is more shots, but he's not selfish like that.

Still, Lebron is a better defender and playmaker than Durant

Just a quick reminder/request for everyone, keep an eye on the language going forward, please. I know heat of the moment first thought is to curse, I have the same temptations, but lets scale it back not just in this instance but overall. Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised of Durant won a championship before LeBron. Or more titles overall.

Wait, so LBJ has to do the impossible? Wade won a championship when the NBA was in the midst of possibly its worst generation, in a manner that was hideous to the eyes. That Heat team would be a #4 seed in this year's East.

And what statistic did I make up? These are facts. LBJ really did lead that series in points, assists, and steals, while finishing a close 2nd in rebounds, and oh by the way utterly shutting down the best player for the Pacers, in Danny Granger.

Wade gets the credit, and without LeBron the Heat get swept.

Durant can shoot better. Literally the only thing he has on LeBron. Durant is one of my favorite players, and a somewhat better scorer because of his better jump shot. He doesn't post up as well, he doesn't ball handle as well, he doesn't finish as well as LeBron. He's pretty much maxed out his scoring ability. LBJ might surpass him as a pure scorer, if he didn't bother passing or playing within the offense, and be a selfish offensive player lie Kobe or Jordan or even Wade. But then again, so could Durant. So I'm not actually sure who would be the better pure scorer. But certainly Durant can't get to the hoop at will, like LeBron can, and he's not the open court player LeBron is either.

Love the Spurs team right now, and think they might be able to eke out a series win over the Thunder. They're playing beautiful basketball right now.

Other than one scoring title before Durant was in the league, has he led the league in any of those categories? But you know he can, right? Rumpke also thought if McGloin started every game, he would have had Heisman-worthy numbers.

I'm sorry but Durant has not maxed out his scoring abilities. I find it hilarious that you think that. You don't think the young guy like Durant can't get a better post up game? On summer with Hakeem and he'll be drastically more efficient. And that's just one aspect of his game he can improve.

No haha, the Hornets did.. The team the NBA owns and has been unable to sell for over a year now. Suddenly they are quite marketable

They've been in the process of being bought for quite a few months by the Bensons (the saints).

Definitely nothing fishy in this one. I was rooting forthe Cavs to win it (Kyrie and Davis would be nice) though, but the Hornets were second. Love Monty Williams, such an underrated coach.
