I'm buying my first non-scratch off today. How can you not even try at this point?

Yesterday my mom called me and told me everything she'd do with her 390 million that she was "going to win." If it weren't my mother, I would have hung up the second she said going to win.

Just to take this thread in a fun direction, what would you do with $389 million?

For me, after paying off all of my family's mortgages and funding all of my kids, nieces and nephews college educations, I would give about $50 million to various charities. Then I would start up my own brewery. It would probably be a disasterous business venture and lose me millions for the first few years, but I think that lifestyle would be a blast.

Besides two chicks at the same time?

1. Drop the hell out of law school
2. Pay off all family debts
3. Houses for everyone in the fam except my sister-in-law, she'd get nothing
4. Cars for whomever wants it
5. Pay off debts for close friends (I have no problem deciding who's close enough for these things)
6. Leave a good deal for the future and for things
7. Vacation a lot
8. Donate a whole lot to various organizations

Throw quite a bit at Cancer and Autism Charities. Throw the mother of all crawfish boils down here in NOLA where I fly 100 of my closest friends and relatives down to hand out checks. Retire, raise my kids, and travel.

It's 540 annuity, and ~389 lump sum. Personally, I'd take annuity. That way, if I blow through my first check with poor investments/money management, I still have 29 more chances.
