OT: I am decommitting from Rivals

  • After taking a final look at their board and how their mods have been talking to paying customers, I have officially made the decision to decommit from their services and make the full switch to Lions 247. I am a newer member over here, only been maybe two months now, but I am more than sold that this is the best place to get premium information in regards to Penn State football.

    The staff here is nothing but courteous and professional, never telling customers to "shove it" (didn't say it to me, but several other posters when they asked if they could message them personally) in threads. The information I saw on BWI was always posted hours/days after it was posted here, and their claim to their timing is that they want to provide quality, when they are really trying to play catch up. An example: Lions247 told us about S Malcolm Cook weeks ago, as for BWI, it was just brought to their attention that Malcolm Cook was at camp yesterday.

    If you're on the fence of joining Lions247, just make the decision to join. It was the best decision I have made regarding Penn State premium information. These guys bust their butts off and give subscribers top quality information and they do it on a daily, even hourly basis. They never stop working, and I think they crave the information just as much as we do as fans. They're never speculative or cryptic in their reporting, and do a great job of being objective. Another great aspect is that the staff here are extremely humble, they don't toot their own horn, or feel the need to legitimize their status. They simply let the product they produce do the talking.

    Okay, my butt kissing session is done, but after all the frustration over at the other site, I needed to get it off my chest and give credit where credit is due. Looking forward to being a customer on here for the next fifty years +.

  • The mods over there deleted so many of my posts over the years it would be impossible to count and I got banned because I disagreed with McAndrew's agenda I am sure. Have not had a single problem over here.

    Wow, I have already posted more over here in two months than I have in 9 years at BWI. Sick of all the negativity and the constant ego war over there. I sent them an e-mail asking about closing my subscription and they responded by saying, "Good Luck, we already charged you for the year, just try and contact us before the next renewal date". I'm contacting their corporate office tomorrow, I'm sick of their egos, their info is worse than second hand info. Their cryptic posts drive me nuts too, they speculate about everything, and put on this image that they know more than they actually do. So misleading and exhausting.

  • pukefaceI exited several years ago too. Still have my FOS membership but starting to question that too. I'll let it play out and keep both for now, but BWI is awful...just awful.

  • Not to mention they allow posters from other sites to start 100% trolling threads complete w/defamatory pics w/PSU related themes. These threads are typically not locked and they are allowed to flame on for days. Complete and total clown show over there.

  • I was on the fence too, when joining a few months ago - now that I've received the regular "doses" of info, I kind of laugh at my original hesitation. This site provides 5x more content than either Scout/BWI. It's not even close IMO.

    This forum also seems to have less trolling/arguments, for whatever reason.

  • I'm PROUD to say BWI gave me the boot decades ago. They had the same attitude back then to their paying customers. I also then joined what is FOS back in the day when there was a different demographic on the board. They became much younger in terms of their base and the shouting matches became more and more frequent. I hung on for the insiders but then they lost their credibility beginning in December. Meantime this site came up and had just what I wanted without the nonsense and it's gotten better with the addition of C James. The test will be when PSU loses it's first game to see how loud the shouting gets. Content wise this is the best by far.

I also then joined what is FOS back in the day when there was a different demographic on the board.     i have a hard time gauging...is it a older crowd on this site...i am 21 and will be a senior this year , but it seems we have a good mix of youth and experience

    No, just a more positive crowd on this site. Also more people that actually enjoy talking about football and engaging in discussions. There's not really a certain group of posters that hijack every post and what they say is it. In other words, you actually have fun on this site, you don't sign off aggravated and exhausted. Staff does a great job of running the forums, which makes a huge difference. Also, the information is a million times better. BTW, who is that chick in your sig pic? She looks familiar....biggrin

    haha shes a cheerleader, and could usually be found at lions den if you feel like creeping i guess, and oh this is the only site i subscribe to, so i don't even go over to the other sites for the thread stuff, looks way more confusing on some other sites
