OT: How many Hot Dogs..?

  • After seeing Chestnut down 62 dogs in 10 minutes, my friends and I all had a discussion about how many we could consume. I honestly think I could eat about 8-10 in 10 minutes before throwing up or just feeling sick in general. I don't consider the whole competitive eating thing to be a legit profession but hey it is what it is.

    So does anyone think they could do more than 10? thats kind of the average we landed on.

  • To do more than 10, I'd have to dip the buns in water like they do, but the thought of that makes me want to puke.

  • I'd say I could do somewhere between 7-10 in 10 minutes. I've eaten roughly 5/6 in the course of 30 minutes before at parties, tailgates, etc. I'd be anxious to see how I'd do when on a time crunch. At any rate, eating that many hot dogs that the professional eaters eat is just flat out disgusting.

  • I personally think the whole dipping should be banned. I won a wing eating competition a couple of years ago against people twice my size using that strategy. The water basically melted down the wings in my mouth and I barely had to chew. It didn't bother me taste wise until the very end and then when I had to just swallow what was in my mouth that's when it became a mental struggle. It definitely helps you win though.

    Yeah I always found that odd. I wouldn't be able to dip it in water to win a contest haha just thinking about it makes me a bit sick pukeface
