How sad. My daughter covers education in D.C. and tweeted about this a short time ago. What is going on in this world?

Holy Shit. Come here to the board for a Ferguson update and get this. Puts things in perspective.

It's unbelievable. I can't even fathom how big of a piece of garbage this shooter is/was to shoot innocent children. My girlfriend is an elementary school teacher and she deals with some crazy parents on a day-to-day basis, but I never considered a parent doing something like this. I mean, no matter how bad your life is going, how the hell do you shoot kids?

Makes me sick to my stomach. The world can be on very scary place. Prayers go out to those children & their families. Definitely puts things in perspective, as well.

A person has to be severely mentally ill to do something like this.

Sigh.

Praying for all those involved.

Have to think there is some strange story behind all of this. This is not the "usual" school shooting. Why does an adult go into an elementary school to kill children? As someone else noted, I have to speculate that severe mental illness will end up being a component in all of this.

Sad day.

School administration complacency. Very sad day in America. Too many lately.

Why not? Fact is this shit happens. How could someone waltz in, with what I assume to be a semi automatic rifle, unnoticed.

He had two hand guns. What is school administrator going to do against an armed man like that?

Um, even if there was a security detail, do you not think someone with semi-automatic rifles can probably get past them?

People blaming the school here need to get a grip.

If over 100 shots were fired, like has been reported, he had to have more than that or the cops took a detour to get there. Bottom line this sucks.
