  • Sherman did anything but "undress" Bayless. If anything, Sherman came off as an immature, over-emotional little girl. Skip trolled him hard and won.

No one 'won.' It was awful television for all involved.

Kind of agree. Shermann was on there to promote his working with kids and that is how he represented himself? Bayless is a troll/idiot, but there is a time and a place. So much for your Stanford education, just goes to show you can't buy or teach common sense.

Sign me up...I'm sure I want my kids being taught life lessons by that ego.

i disagree...sherman did get a little off base...but his comments about skip 's analysis being opinion not fact were spot on. He also never took the bait and proclaimed himself better than Revis.....just said his stats speak for themselves. I also liked how skip said "he accomplished more in his field than Sherman did in his", which sherman found laughable.

Sherman may not have hit a homerun, but anytime an athlete comes out and attacks these blowhards is great...keep calling them out for what they are. They like to cut you off and talk trash on the air when your not there.....so when you show up and trash them..great

But isn't that what people like Bayless want? To get these athletes to attack them so they can then play the victim?

It's nothing but shock TV, just all talk and radio shows seem to be now. The whole concept of two people yelling at each other because they disagree is so played out. It's boring TV in my humble opinion. ESPN programming has become Jerry Springer of Sports.

Skip got exactly what he wanted, people talking about his show after it was over.

    rck127

  • It's just like watching Jerry Springer. It's garbage. A lot of blah with little to no substance.

    getmyjive11

  • Terrible tv. I never watch that show but that segment is just garbage tv.

    MikePSU82

  • Whatever. I mean I dont like Skip or Stephen A as they are up there with the clowns like Golic/Cowhard at ESPN, but Sherman just seems real sensitive.

"Whenever you speak to me, whenever you refer to me, whenever you address me, Skip, address me as Stanford Graduate and All-Pro."

What a joke of a statement.

  • I think Richard called him out and I was fine with it ... I enjoyed it.

I believe Richard was correct with just about everything he said ... he could have been smoother with his delivery.

It's funny that immaturity is now standing up for yourself after some guy says a bunch of crap about you.

    hardly.

he tried way too hard and Skip let him keep flailing. Everyone knows Skip Bayless is a huge troll, and Sherman tried to t-t-t-trump him.

it was very uncomfortable. Bill Simmons had a couple tweets stating same - nobody won and he's right. Nobody ever really wins going on that show and acting like Smith and Bayless.

    +1 there.

Skip said it best when he said that Sherman didn't answer one question of his.

Yeah gonna agree with what others said.
He came across like a butthurt crybaby that took everything so personal. Epic fail on his part.
it takes a true failure of epic proportions to turn Skip Bayless into a reasonable, professional, and sympathetic figure.

Disagree completely. Skip's only question was, "do you think you're better than Revis?", which is an asinine question. Sherman said look at the stats and the results. He is unquestionably one of the best in the world at what he does and was justifiably recognized as such. He couldn't win actually saying yes or no. Pointing out that Skip is a talentless d-bag was just icing on the cake. Everyone always complains about athletes giving the PC answer. Yet when they say what's really on their mind, they get lambasted anyway. I applaud the guy.

  • Sherman mentioned his Stanford education but apparently missed that what Skip does is all a stupid act. He let it get under his skin then came out sounding like an ass IMO. Telling someone they're "not as good at life" is ridiculous. I'm not a Skip fan (he has a schtick, it doesn't appeal to me), but this was dumb as hell.

I'm sure plenty of people loved what he did, but that's because many people let what Skip says get to them and always want someone to tell him off. This is exactly what Skip loves and it is giving him exactly what he wants.

  • Makes Skip look better than this Richard Sherman guy. Act your age, you have a freaking degree from Stanford! Skip does his job by making people disagree with him, but this guy obviously failed to see that and took it personally.

  • So let me make certain I understand ...

Some blowhard douchebag finally has someone stand up for themselves on the douchebags show and people think the guy answering the question and standing up for himself is immature, thin skinned, etc?

Heck, almost all of us have spent more than the last year hoping someone would stand up for us (Penn State).

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

    +1.

To CK, makes Skip look better than what? An ass that has no idea what he's talking about? Nope, he did nothing to change that impression. I am amazed that anyone with half a brain (or a life) watches that show. The only times I've heard Skip in recent years were this clip, the clip of Mark Cuban ripping him for knowing nothing about basketball and Jalen Rose ripping him about his exaggerated basketball exploits. There seems to be a trend there.

  • Love Sherman. Wouldn't trade him for Revis any day of the week.

I want CB's on an island. I want CB's who are cocky and confident. Sherman is all of that, and a damn good player as well. The stuff he is doing for kids is second to none.

I said it was all my opinion. Here's where I differ (again, this is solely IMO, so please nobody get offended, there are pretty good arguments both ways, especially when someone as divisive as Skip is involved).

It's easy for people outside to see through Skip's act. Him trolling players means nothing to me. It's obvious what he's doing to me, and I think it's stupid. But I don't see any reason to react to it, just let it pass.

However, these players are the ones he's trolling, so it's obviously a completely different situation. He's not making fun of me personally, so IDGAF what he says, but he specifically called Sherman out, so me sitting on the sidelines saying "he should see through it" is probably a little bit harsh.

With that said, there are much better ways to handle this than how Sherman did (again, I'm on the outside, so it's much easier for me to sit behind a keyboard and say all of this). But when Skip says "you're not near the level of Revis, would you agree?" all he has to do is say "you're wrong." He can even get mad and say "that's a joke, look at my numbers, I was one of the best corners in the game and he didn't play." Very innocuous comments. Instead, he went on to say Skip was not as good at life as he was (WTF does that even mean?) and basically said Skip was a waste of talent while he's one of the best CB's in the NFL, making his life so much more successful than Skip's. It's a ridiculously arrogant statement. Sherman was blessed with great talent and he also works his ass off. That doesn't mean he's any better or worse at life than anyone else. It's a ridiculous thing to say to someone, especially when that person is a professional troll. It's exactly what Skip wanted and he loved it. Sherman gave him everything he could have asked for and did it in such a ridiculously arrogant way (again all IMO) that it just looks childish and petty.

I wouldn't call that standing up for himself. If Sherman left it at " my numbers speak for themself." That would be nice. Instead he continues down the " my life is better than your life" road and comes off as a complete baby.

Look, like Skip or hate him, that's how he makes his money, but at the end of the day all he is doing is giving his opinion. For Sherman to turn it into a personal attack instead of answering the question is childish.
